Two hour premiere
June 11th
Season Premiere on June 18th
The obscure, but apparently
popular series returns once again to the USA Network
with much anticipated season three on June 11th. I've
never seen this show, nor have I ever sought it out in
spite of its unique plot. But "The 4400" a mix of
"Taken", and utterly shameless elements ripped from
"X-Men" rejoins the story once more as the government is
seeking to warn America about the potential war about to
brew with humans and the 4400, while they incorporate
themselves into society with obvious supernatural powers
such as telepathy, and underwater breathing.
You have to wonder what the
plans are for these super humans and their inevitable
fates in the world. Are they test subjects who found
accidental side effects that would benefit them, or have
they been equipped by other worldly beings with weapons
that could aide in the destruction of civilization at
any given moment? Even if the writers do shamelessly rip
from other stories and better series, "The 4400" is a
very intriguing series--once a mini-series--that
understandably garners a large fan base. This isn't just
a story of people whom were abducted and returned, these
people were returned but with powers, and powers that
could either spell doom for the world, or benefit them.
But it's really all up to
the owner of the powers, and that makes this new season
so much more enveloped in tension. Which one of these
beings will decide that their newfound abilities can
work in evil ways? Which brings us to Billy Campbell who
is always at his best when playing the evil being.
You'll have to understand though I've never seen the
series, I can not point out who lived, who died, and any
major story changes, so all I can tell you is that the
fans will surely be in for many surprises.
But judging by this
pilot--at its early stages of production, so we can't
give anything away--many characters will experience
tragic ends, and many theories I've posed come into
fruition. Suffice it to say, as someone who went into
the series without previous knowledge of the first
seasons, it's a fascinating series that I was curious to
get into, but for fans, I'm sure this will be a killer
season premiere. And if you are a fan, e-mail us and let
us know what you thought of the premiere and fill us in
on what we're missing. |
