AMONG THE INSANE: INSIDE THE ASYLUM HOUSE

Essentially a commercial disguised as a documentary Among the Insane: Inside the Asylum House is about Indiana’s premiere Halloween attraction. Hosted by co-owner Patrick Greathouse Among the Insane almost comes across as a new employee video as it takes us behind the scenes of The Asylum House from its conception to its ongoing growth. Every year it adds new actors, rooms and scenes and this documentary shows just how much of an evolving project an attraction like this really is.

It also shows how much hard work, from props to decorations to the daily running is done all year long not just during the month of October. It gives an insight into just what it takes to operate an attraction like this successfully and just how much hard work goes into making sure the patrons get their money’s worth and the reputation of The Asylum House stands tall. You know what you’re getting here, and other than hyping The Asylum House there is not much else this documentary has to offer.

It honestly doesn’t need to do anything else. It opens its doors just enough to show you all the mysteries inside and leaves you wanting more. Personally I’m not a fan of haunted Halloween attractions like these or Haunted Hayrides since I couldn’t care less about seeing scenes form horror movies loosely reenacted by a bunch of teenagers, but I was interested enough while watching this to wish that I lived closer to The Asylum House to check it out. It really does look like a blast, and a lot of time and effort goes into making this what the staff hopes is the most thrilling experience anyone can have.

Check out Among the Insane: Inside the Asylum House to see a side of a Halloween attraction that you probably never even thought twice about.  This is a very cool place, and the patrons look to be having a great time, as do the staff who really seem to be having the time of their lives playing monsters.  Of course you’ll be seeing all the best parts in this documentary, they do want you to come check it out in person after all, I wonder what surprises are left to discover once you get there.  With new concepts every year use this film as a template because there is more than enough to surprise fans with every visit.
