DISTRICT 9

Every single thing about this movie makes it feel oh so good. I won’t blow any of the surprises of this film so I’m be speaking in abstract about it for the most part, but it is a classic science fiction film made for classic science fiction fans.

It’s perfection in every sense of the word.

It’s beautiful. It’s creepy. It’s amazing. And it was made on a small budget that very few movies are made on these days.

Basically, this is a film that follows one central character, Wikus, played by brand new actor Sharlto Copley, and he does such an amazing job that you have to think he’s been acting for years and years.

He deserves a nomination, pure and simple. But it’s a sci-fi movie, so it’s doubtful.

The beauty of this movie is that it was made in spite of the failure of the Halo movie. Which went nowhere and I just have to thank the gods that it wasn’t made.

This movie is fun, exciting, exhilarating and everything you can possibly say about this movie, but without going into drastic and insane detail, it’s tough. I don’t want to spoil it.

I will say that I saw this on a special sneak preview and it blew people away. People were laughing, clapping their hands and left wanting more.

I’ve seen it twice and already want to go back. But again, nothing else can be said besides see this movie immediately.

Nothing flowery. Nothing stupid. See this movie at least once and just let your brain explode in awesomeness. It’s superb, it’s stellar, and not a single movie star to be found. At least, not yet.
