With the same basic cast from “My Life in
Subtitles,” Grossman’s “Finding Space” is much more of a sentimental
romance drama about two madly in love people recollecting the time when
they fell in love. This is yet another short film from another filmmaker
with a surprise plot twist that I’ll have to dance around so as not to
ruin it for you. But if you ever come across “Finding Space” at a
festival, you’d best check it out to gain an understanding.
Dave and Madison, celebrating
their anniversary decide to re-enact much of the same events
that led to their wedding proposal one fateful day, and
then… it evolves into something of a much different breed of
animal. Suffice it to say, Danny Grossman and Elisa Dyann
are once again very good together, re-joining from the
previous “My Life in Subtitles.” Grossman’s drama has a much
more different vibe, and Dyann
and director Grossman take the genre on with flair and
provide very good performances. |

“Finding Space” is a short film about
love, and our inability to face certain truths sometimes, regardless
of how much time can pass us by. Grossman takes the genre shift
well, and gives us a rather heartbreaking drama that I thoroughly
enjoyed.
Rebounding from the comedy with the same cast, Grossman captures a sad
part of life, and our inability to accept certain facts about our
relationship. "Finding Space" is a great drama that sticks with you for
a long time.
