LITTLE FOCKERS

Allow me to sum up Little Fockers for all of you: Ben Stiller: Still annoying, Blythe Danner: Horribly Wasted, Teri Polo: Horribly Wasted, Dustin Hoffman: Wasted, even though too much of him can be exhausting, Barbara Streisand: Wasted, but I appreciated it, Harvey Keitel: Pointless cameo, Jessica Alba: You at least get to see her in bra and panties, Owen Wilson: Persona is really starting to grate, Laura Dern: Why was she in this movie? Robert De Niro: Wasted.

An Open Letter to Robert De Niro

Dear Mr. De Niro,

You’re killing me!

You are one of the greatest actors of all time who once said that, “Talent is in the choices”. Now, with masterpieces like Raging Bull, Taxi Driver, Mean Streets and Goodfellas backing you up, I’d be inclined to agree with you and that statement. How then do you explain films like The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle? Or Showtime? Or 15 Minutes?

Or Righteous Kill? Or your current mess, the unnecessary and painstakingly unfunny Little Fockers? What do these and sadly, many other films you have made in the last decade have in common? Aside from the fact that they are all very bad films, most importantly, they are all wastes of your unique and considerable talents.

Now, I understand that actors have to pay the bills like everybody else, but for someone like you, who practically owns Tribeca, something tells me that you haven’t been hurting for cash in a long, long time, so the films I listed (especially Little Fockers) make me want to scratch my head in amazement and wonder. You still have the goods. Take your understated work in the impressive Stone, from late 2010 for example. You proved that you’re still one of the greats with that performance.

And then there’s "Little Fockers?" Again, you’re killing me!

Sincerely,

A Devoted Fan Who Hopes and Prays For Your Return to Good Movies

I actually screamed in the theater when in the final moments of this film, they set up a premise for a 4th “Focker” film.
