For the first
episode, we follow the two as they present the
history of Muay Thai boxing, and give us a
rather lengthy back story on the brutal history
of it, and even the mechanics. I'll admit I had
a hard time not enjoying myself, even as someone
who never cares to watch the martial arts sports
such as Muay Thai.Through the
program we're given displays, staged fighting,
demonstration, an example of the environment
these bouts take place in, interviews with
professionals, and of course, one of the two
eventually will try it out and battle a master
of this martial art. You guys just have to love
it. I sure did.
As the pilot
episode continues, the two hosts realize that
they will have to battle the grand champion of
the sport, as they're challenged by the manager
of a Muay Thai school to bout with the best of
the best, and as tensions grows, they have to
decide which wants to get in the ring and risk a
harsh injury. "Human Weapon" is a fascinating
and exciting glimpse into the martial arts of
other cultures, and it's deserving of an
audience. I'll be watching the premiere, that's
for sure.
