JAY AND SILENT BOB STRIKE BACK

In the "supposedly" last installment of the Jay and Silent Bob series, we meet Jay and Silent bob, two invalids who hang outside a convenience store doing basically nothing. When a hit comic "Bluntman and Chronic" based on their exploits is being made into a Hollywood movie, they're not going to see a cent of royalties, so they decide to go to Hollywood to stop the film from being made. This is directed by famed cult comic book writer Kevin Smith who's based practically his entire Hollywood career on these two characters alone. I got to say for a closing movie on the two characters he pulls no stops.

This is one of the funniest movies with an excellent plotline to it. Comic book freaks will enjoy the two characters' exploits across the country as they encounter a female posse of supposed animal lovers, a dumb wildlife agents, and cameos galore from famous celebrities such as Wes Craven and James Van der Beek who spoof themselves, and they're not just there to show their faces, each of the cameos play an intricate hilarious role in the entire film. Probably the funniest cameos are those of Smith movie alumnus Ben Affleck and Matt Damon who give hilarious small roles in this flick that will surely leave you in tears. Jay and Silent Bob are at their funniest in this movie and their comedy timing is perfect at times. Jason Mewes gives life to this movie that needs it. I was surprised to discover that I really liked this film. This also features the usual Smith crew: Ben Affleck, Shannon Doherty, and Jason Lee who appear in almost all of Smith's flicks. I was never fond of Kevin Smith's early movies  but I thought his last two, "Dogma" and this were the best. Bravo Mr. Smith.

All in all a spectacular finish to a good series from original cult creator Kevin Smith. Jay and Silent Bob have never been funnier. You think this is good? You should check out his comic book stuff, it's better.
