TEN THINGS WE WANT IN THE NEW "BATMAN" MOVIE

Right now as we speak fans of comic books and of Batman are running around on Fan fiction websites and message boards devising their own plots for Batman 3. Everyone, and I mean everyone, has an opinion on where part three in Nolan's Batman series should go, and they have an idea on what he should do, who he should include, and what should happen to the trilogy. Everyone is at an impasse trying to explain what their vision would and should be for the third leg in the "Batman" series and guess what: we're not different. We have our own ideas and wishes for the third film coming up in 2012, and we hope this doesn't fall on deaf ears. (Yes we know it will, but humor us.)

Part Three Is It
I know this series is going to be revived eventually by Warner Bros. who don't want to let the character die for its potential to rake in the big bucks. Batman is a character who makes a lot of money for them. We're not kidding ourselves when Nolan says this is it for his Batman, but at least let it end for a good while and allow the fans to be settled in with Nolan's radical version of the Dark Knight for a good long time. Part three must be it mainly for Nolan's arc. I'm sure once the estimates come in for the third part of Christopher Nolan's Batman series, the studios are going to butt heads and say "We have to keep this cash machine rolling" so Nolan will probably drop out to move on, they'll bring in another director claiming they want to bring a fresh new take on the Batman lore, and completely destroy anything and everything Nolan set down in his series like they did with the "X-Men" movies. If that has to happen (and it will, I guarantee), then let this be an end to Nolan's trilogy once and for all. No question marks, no hinting to a sequel, no open doors, just end it already. End Bale's run, end everything altogether and leave it up to the studios to pick it up and dust it off. I have faith Christopher Nolan will indeed close off his own series once and for all by bringing the entire origin of Batman to a close, so let three be it and stop it altogether. I will be waiting ten years from now when rumblings of a new Batman movie series will begin. And I will thank Nolan for knowing when to put an end to it.

Don't Recast the Characters or Bring in Old Villains.
No new joker! Do you hear me? No new Joker! And on that topic, do not at all recast the villains and bring in the old villains. We had Scarecrow, Ra's Al Ghul, Two Face, and the Joker, so they're automatically off the table for this series. Sure The Scarecrow had a cameo in "The Dark Knight" but it was to seal up the questions asked by many after he suddenly disappeared after "Batman Begins." Batman has a plethora of villains Nolan can choose from to take off in his movie, or perhaps put a spin on the more obscure ones. Why not bring in Catwoman as a brilliant professional freelance thief who happens to cross paths with Batman during a gig, what about Deadshot as a masterful assassin hired to bring Batman down who is relentless in his pursuit, what about Killer Croc as a deranged deformed freak on the loose, imagine The Riddler as a genius sophisticated strategist and mathematician who can provide Batman some brain flexing instead of reducing him to throwing punches? What about a maniacal Joker disciple born from the Joker's teachings named Harley Quinn who is intent on following in her deity's footsteps like the Two-Face? Words are powerful and it's possible the Joker's carnage inspired a slew of anarchists other than Two Face. Maybe he even inspired a cult. We saw it in "Batman Beyond" after all. What about Poison Ivy? She could easily be a sort of psychotic environmentalist who uses the toxins of plants to wreak havoc on Gotham. She doesn't have to have that dumb costume, control plants or seduce Batman, she could just easily be someone with great intentions who went nuts from their pursuit. The possibilities are endless people!

A Final Suit for Batman
There will always be a new suit for Batman in the universe from the comics to the series', right to fan photos. Batman has had literally hundreds of costumes with minor tweaks and major variations. He's had long ears, short ears, expanded ears, humongous capes, short capes, no capes, body plating, yellow bright insignia, gray shading tights, dark blue shading tights, etc. But what with the explanation that the third film is intended to close off the entire trilogy and bring Batman's storyline to a close once and for all, how about a final suit? It doesn't have to have nipples and silver splashes but it could look quite similar to the famous suit while sticking to the tech soldier look we saw in "The Dark Knight." If this is the final, then give us a definitive version of the costume that shows us Nolan has been here and no one else can hold a candle to what he's brought to fans of the Dark Knight.

The Bat Cave
If you're going to call him Batman, you have to give him a bat cave and Nolan hasn't quite given him one at all. You can pull off a Batcave and steep it in realism as Nolan has committed to doing in this series. In "Batman Begins" Nolan pretty much gave Batman his own bat cave that was pretty accidental and not at all instrumental in helping Batman solve his case other than being a testing ground for his costume and weapons. Then it was demolished and hinted that Bruce was rebuilding drastically. In "The Dark Knight" he instead had a massive condo along a skyscraper, with an underground base that looked like the Bat Cave but really wasn't. I hope Nolan delivers in that respect. The Bat Cave is an important factor in Batman's cases.

A Reasonable End and Redemption for Batman.
At the end of "The Dark Knight," Bruce Wayne made an incredible sacrifice. Instead of letting the Joker win once and for all and showing the world that the one true hero left in Gotham had been corrupted by the smiling madman, he instead helped Jim Gordon cover up the death and allowed himself to become the villain who betrayed Gotham to instill a sense of hope in the citizens of Gotham that their one true hero was dead but still prevailed in his values and teachings. All the while preventing further vigilantes from emerging. Gordon was now Batman's enemy in the end and that was something he had to do or else lose Gotham once and for all to grief. In the end of the third film I don't want to see Batman waving to crowds in a ticker tape parade, but I would like some acknowledgement that his crusade was not in vain and that Gotham trusted him again thanks to a grand deed. What deed? That's for Nolan to decide.
