Original sin is winding down and team Wolverine wants to kick some Hellfire ass still. And that looks to be about the way things are going to happen.

Commentary:
You can't really talk about the plot. You just have to read the last couple issues to know what's going on. Wolverine and Xavier are at the compound where Sebastian and Claudine are holding Daken, and they're taking the fight to them.

The issue revolves around the fight for Daken, but there are some awesome moments here. When Xavier uses his powers to see through a bird to find out where the guards are, and then creates the most hidden and scary things for those same guards to see, we're getting a look into how Xavier is going to act from here on out. It's crazy good because he's never been this proactive, never.

And Wolverine is almost leading Xavier. Telling him what to do, how to do it. Great stuff.

The moments between Daken and Claudine have gotten weirder too. She really wants to read his mind, but they've made it difficult to look at her because she's Mr. Sinister with a sex change and they're making her a very sexual character. Score one for Eaton for making me a little uncomfortable while reading this book. But she's still a badass in a way. She shuts Daken down when he's in the way and Team Wolverine is on the case, and when she and Xavier have a little brain-battle off, he quickly learns who she is after jumping into it too quick, and then quickly trounces her. Again, making Xavier more of a badass.

The battle between Shaw and Wolverine is also quite awesome. Shaw begins the fight by taking directly to Wolverine, using his powers of siphoning kinetic energy and forcing Logan to hit him. Of course, when Wolverine and Xavier manage to shut down all sensors and powers and the entirety of the compound's energy, Shaw is effed, big time. Logan tells him that he won't be able to fight with his senses like Logan can. So the rest of the fight happens off camera but big boom, Shaw goes down.

Now, the last bits of the issue are where it gets a little weird. Claudine has Daken on a table, and she's going to essentially wipe his mind and give him new memories. When Xavier stops her, he's going to do something similar. So Daken wakes after being jolted by a memory, and Xavier is down with Daken awake and knowing full well who he is and what he's doing. He's also got his claws near Xavier's temples. And that's when Daddy Logan steps in. And we've got one more issue and a throwdown to look forward to next time.

So again, the book works wonders. It doesn't struggle with meaning. It doesn't take it's time in developing any more of the story. It knows you're reading and it knows you've followed the last couple, so it knows how to jump right in. Carey and Eaton are a team that completely dominates this book, and I can only hope they stay together for a lot longer here.
