A young nerd at a junior high school prom gets humiliated
and tortured by a bunch of girls, and bullies. Many years later, he comes back hacking all
of the girls who made fun of him to death. The only question is, which one of
the boy toys these girls have is the guy coming back for revenge?
For the record, I gave "Valentine" a
high score, because I love slasher flicks. Love 'em, love 'em. When it comes to other
movies, I'm very biased and strict, yet when it comes to slashers, I accept them at face
value. With "Valentine" I accepted it at face value. The atmosphere is good, at
certain times, the movie gave off a great vibe of suspense and chills. The storyline
somewhat resembles "Prom Night", but doesn't cease to fail in the gore
department. The killer even has his own theme song, which sounds alot like the Micheal
Myers theme song. At least this killer had one, none of the other watered down slasher
flicks had any. The actors in here won't win any Oscars, but they will definitely win
beauty contests. Was Denise Richards fun to look at or what? She can be my Valentine any day. David Boreanaz has a moderate role in
this flick and has a nice presence onscreen. The ending is somewhat surprising and leaves
the door open for a sequel. I heard alot of things with this film, like for instance, the
book was completely different from the movie, and wasn't even a slasher, yet a
psychological thriller, and for the finish, I heard this is the last of Hollywood's
bland, cookie-cutter, watered down slashers...for now.
This is a pretty
standard slasher flick. Revenge, pretty girls, dumb girls, cut! hack! The end.
Nothing completely new.
All you have to do is shut your brain off, grab some popcorn, and enjoy. I hope
there's no more of these. Eck. I tire with these flicks.
