Jordan Peele’s “Nope” Makes Its Debut

All star cast? Check.
Mystifying use of music (in this case Stevie Wonder’s “Fingertips”) to create terror? Check.
Brilliant editing that tells us everything and yet nothing? Check.
Another spooky trailer from Jordan Peele? Check.

That Jordan Peele sure is a wicked puppet master, and with “Nope” he grabs our attention while giving us literally nothing about “Nope” except the basics. Is it an alien invasion? Aliens weaponizing the weather? Are these interstellar colonizers? It’s going to be a long wait to July 7th.

Beyond Fest’s Black Friday: George A. Romero’s “Dawn of the Dead” with Ken Foree In Person

Join the American Cinematheque and the Cinemtatic Void for the Ultimate Black Friday mall trip: George A. Romero’s Dawn of the Dead with Ken Foree in Person.

In celebration of mass consumption and the grotesque gluttony, George A. Romero’s “Dawn of trhe Dead” gets a rare theatrical screening this Black Friday at the Aero Theater in Santa Monica. Joining for both a pre-screening introduction and post screening Q&A will be lead actor Ken Foree to share on-set stories and the importance of Romero’s enduring Magnum Opus.

The sequel to Romero’s landmark “Night of the Living Dead,” “Dawn of the Dead” obliterated genre normas and shattered sensese jupon its release in 1978. A razor sharp social commentary on material society, Romero’s vision is fully realized in the collapsed civilization that he meticulously wrote, directed, and edited. State of the Cinema Crazed 2021 (Corrected)

While 2021 has been a chaotic year, it’s been a big year for Cinema Crazed. In many ways it’s been great, and in many ways it’s been pretty stressful. One of the constant questions I’m asked by people is “Is it hard to start a blog?” I often tell them no. It’s merely just opening a blog and writing about what you want to write about. Cinema Crazed started back in 2003 when we operated on free servers, and in 2005, the official domain was put up. As we grew, our need for more memory and web space arose. And with that requirement, came the need for more money.
