I fondly remember renting \u201cMeet Rockula and Frankenstone\u201d quite often from our local videos store when I was a kid, and thankfully the movie genuinely holds up. Like all great comedy series, the Flintstones have had their share of crossovers, and this time they have the misfortune of meeting Dracula and Frankenstone. Or their stone age counterparts, as it were. While it\u2019s not raucously funny as when Abbot and Costello met them, it\u2019s a darn good short movie with the Flintstones doing what they do best.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

While attending a local game show, the Flintstones manage to win a trip to a local haunted castle for a costume party on Halloween. The Rubbles agree to go along with them and stay at the castle that ends up being much more haunted than they thought. During the big costume party, Count Rockula and his assistant Frankenstone are awoken from their tombs and chase the partiers away, save for the two couples, all of whom are oblivious to their presence. Things get worse when Rockula falls in love with Wilma, and is intent on making her his bride.<\/p>\n

\u201cMeet Rockula and Frankenstone\u201d is mostly mad cap running around and getting in to physical misadventures, as Fred and Barney are slow on the uptake in realizing the two menacing monsters have awoken from their sleep. \u201cMeet Rockula and Frankenstone\u201d succeeds as a one and done clashing of genres, with the Flintstones basically trying to outwit the pairing of monsters as best as they can. Wilma ends up being the wisest character in the movie, as she learns how to evade Rockula when he pursues her and devises a pretty funny plan to ward him off when he persists in making her his bride. \u201cMeet Rockula and Frankenstone\u201d is a fun Flintstones adventure, and one that works well for Halloween.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
