If you\u2019re the superstitious kind, you might want to avoid this list entirely, as I list thirteen random facts about \u201cFriday the 13th<\/sup>.\u201d Perhaps you might learn something new about your friendly neighborhood movie critic.<\/p>\n

You might also be surprised to see how much of an influence \u201cFriday the 13th<\/sup>\u201d and Jason Voorhees has had on my life.
\n<\/sup><\/p>\n

\"129001\"<\/a>13. Despite it not being related to the movie franchise, I watched the series regularly as a child and loved the show\u2019s fantasy\/gothic tone.<\/p>\n

12. The first \u201cFriday the 13th<\/sup>\u201d I\u2019ve ever seen was \u201cThe Final Chapter.\u201d<\/p>\n

11. The \u201cFriday the 13th<\/sup>\u201d we were forbidden from seeing was \u201cJason Lives.\u201d I never found out why.<\/p>\n

10. I had the \u201cFriday the 13th<\/sup>\u201d NES video game as a child and played it often. Not surprisingly I never got far, and Jason always massacred me.<\/p>\n

\"alicecooper-jason\"<\/a>9. Despite being the most comedic of the series, \u201cJason Lives\u201d has the most haunting score, and best theme song. Alice Cooper, bitch.<\/p>\n

8. I didn\u2019t get to see the original \u201cFriday the 13th<\/sup>\u201d well into my pre-teens. And I\u2019m still not the biggest fan.<\/p>\n

7. The costume I wore most frequently for Halloween as a child was Jason Voorhees, with a grand total of three times. All times I donned a plastic machete and spray painted blood spatters. There\u2019s never not a good time to be Jason.<\/p>\n

\"Joe<\/a>6. The best way to see the \u201cFriday the 13th<\/sup>\u201d movie series is with Joe Bob Briggs and Monstervision. If you were a viewer back in the nineties, it was quite the entertaining experience.<\/p>\n

5. So far, \u201cFreddy vs. Jason\u201d is the only \u201cFriday the 13th<\/sup>\u201d film I\u2019ve ever actually seen in theaters, as I was too young to go see \u201cJason Takes Manhattan.\u201d<\/p>\n

4. \u201cJason Lives\u201d is my favorite \u201cFriday the 13th<\/sup>\u2019 film, and one I consider to be the best.<\/p>\n

3. To date the most deserving Jason victim was Kia from \u201cFreddy vs. Jason.\u201d<\/p>\n

2. If you think Jason being an anti-hero in \u201cFreddy vs. Jason\u201d was out of character, he does return in \u201cFreddy vs. Jason vs. Ash\u201d to mutilate Monica Keena\u2019s character Lori. Jason killed a dog, I don\u2019t know why Keena was shocked that he kills Lori.<\/p>\n
