\"\"<\/a>I continue my top ten with the final five celebrating ten modern horror actresses I\u2019m quite a fan of. The rankings aren\u2019t definitive, nor a reflection on the quality of these actresses, it\u2019s just arbitrary ratings for the sake of the list. These are the remaining five great modern horror actresses making their mark in the horror world in celebration of \u201cWomen in Horror Month 2017.\u201d<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>5. Jane Levy
\n<\/strong>Levy began her early career charming in her drama comedy \u201cSuburgatory\u201d and since branching out has been making her presence known with great performances in acclaimed horror films. She worked with Fede Alvarez in the \u201cEvil Dead\u201d remake where she gave an incredible performance as a drug abuser possessed by demons in the dreaded cabin, and worked with Alvarez again in the 2016 thriller \u201cDon\u2019t Breathe\u201d as a teenage thief who attempts to rob the house of a blind man who is much more clever and relentless than she realizes. Up next she\u2019ll appear in the much anticipated return of \u201cTwin Peaks.\u201d<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>4. <\/strong>Mary Elizabeth Winstead
\n<\/strong>Winstead has proven time and time again to be an actress of immense weight, giving a criminally underrated performance in \u201cSmashed,\u201d and even has shined in films like \u201cLive Free or Die Hard.\u201d Since her debut in the early aughts, she\u2019s been in a ton of genre fare, including horror. She\u2019s proven to be a great in movies like \u201cMonster Island,\u201d \u201cThe Ring Two,\u201d \u201cFinal Destination 3,\u201d was one of the very few highlights in the \u201cBlack Christmas\u201d remake, and even made waves as Lee, a cheerleader suit donning actress in Tarantino\u2019s \u201cDeath Proof.\u201d She\u2019s also gone on to \u201cThe Thing,\u201d played Mary Todd in \u201cAbraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter\u201d and in 2016 gave a compelling turn in \u201c10 Cloverfield Lane,\u201d as an injured girl hiding out in a bunker during an alleged apocalypse. Winstead is set to appear in the upcoming season of the acclaimed crime drama \u201cFargo.\u201d<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>3. <\/strong>Lauren Ashley Carter
\n<\/strong>Carter is a stunning actress often remembered beyond her performances for her humongous eyes that make many of her cinematic turns quite haunting. Lauren Ashley Carter has taken great turns co-starring in the acclaimed \u201cThe Woman,\u201d and starred in the celebrated 2013 horror film \u201cJug Face\u201d where she plays a teen running from a cult who wants to sacrifice her to a demon. There was also \u201cPod,\u201d “Darling,” and most recently co-starred in the Joe Bego\u2019s horror thriller \u201cThe Mind\u2019s Eye,\u201d a much discussed tribute to eighties sci-fi horror like \u201cScanners.\u201d<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>2. Pollyanna McIntosh
\n<\/strong>The striking Scottish beauty Pollyanna McIntosh has made her mark in a plethora of movies, most of all horror, appearing in some of the most memorable roles in the aughts. Among many, she\u2019s starred in films like \u201cBats: Human Harvest,\u201d and gave an incredible performance as \u201cThe Woman,\u201d a feral cannibal who appeared in 2009\u2019s \u201cOffspring\u201d and again in the 2011 \u201cThe Woman.\u201d Both films were widely talked about, and McIntosh\u2019s turn is bold and disturbing. Among a slew of roles in dramas and comedies, she\u2019s also starred in 2014\u2019s \u201cLet Us Prey,\u201d the black comedy \u201cBurke and Hare\u201d and 2015\u2019s horror anthology \u201cTales of Halloween.\u201d<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>1. Fiona Dourif
\n<\/strong>Fiona Dourif comes from horror royalty as she is the daughter of iconic character actor Brad Dourif. Fiona has gone on to pave a career all her own, while also working alongside her father in the much acclaimed \u201cCurse of Chucky\u201d where she does battle with the demonic doll, and is set to appear in the follow up \u201cCult of Chucky.\u201d Beyond the \u201cChild\u2019s Play\u201d series, Dourif has crafted a very stand up career with a variety of movie and television roles. Among her genre specific roles, she\u2019s starred, to much acclaim in the HBO series \u201cTrue Blood,\u201d and films like \u201cHer Last Will,\u201d Patrick Rea\u2019s \u201cArbor Demon,\u201d \u201cBlood is Blood,\u201d and \u201cFear Clinic.\u201d<\/p>\n
