{"id":27326,"date":"2018-01-05T22:15:11","date_gmt":"2018-01-06T03:15:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/cinema-crazed.com\/blog\/?p=27326"},"modified":"2018-01-05T22:20:16","modified_gmt":"2018-01-06T03:20:16","slug":"emilie-blacks-top-5-theatrical-releases-of-2017","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.cinema-crazed.com\/blog\/2018\/01\/05\/emilie-blacks-top-5-theatrical-releases-of-2017\/","title":{"rendered":"Emilie Black\u2019s Top 5 Theatrical Releases of 2017"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cinema-crazed.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/spider-man-homecoming-2-e1515208772529.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-27332 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.cinema-crazed.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/spider-man-homecoming-2-e1515208772529.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"630\" height=\"354\" \/><\/a>Having seen mostly independent films and foreign releases, making a top 10 of mainstream, theatrically released films is practically impossible.\u00a0 However, some of these films deserve to be recognized and seen.\u00a0 Here are my 5 favorites of the mainstream American films I\u2019ve seen this year.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cinema-crazed.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/dunkirk-e1515198088313.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-27330\" src=\"https:\/\/www.cinema-crazed.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/dunkirk-e1515198088313.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"630\" height=\"354\" \/><\/a><strong>5. Dunkirk<\/strong><br \/>\nA war movie worth seeing and seeing again.\u00a0 Yes, it\u2019s heavy, but it\u2019s also hopeful.\u00a0 It shows are humans can keep hope alive from very little and will help each other against all odds when the time comes.\u00a0 The cast is amazing, the cinematography takes your breath away, and the story, build as multiple smaller stories interconnecting, is one that requires to be viewed a few times.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Watch with:<\/strong> Amen.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cinema-crazed.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/baby-driver-movie1-e1515048860299.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-27308 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.cinema-crazed.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/baby-driver-movie1-e1515048860299.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"630\" height=\"334\" \/><\/a><strong>4. Baby Driver<\/strong><br \/>\nEdgar Wright, music, cars.\u00a0 All one really needs to know to see this one.\u00a0 It\u2019s one of those films that the less you know, the better.\u00a0 Going in without any expectation (hard to do at this point) will lead to a happy surprise.\u00a0 That being said, the film is well written, carefully directed and edited, with great performance and an even better soundtrack.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cinema-crazed.com\/blog\/2017\/07\/19\/baby-driver-2017\/\"><strong>Reviewed by Felix<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Watch with:<\/strong> Overdrive<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cinema-crazed.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/spiderman-home1-e1515198549490.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-27331 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.cinema-crazed.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/spiderman-home1-e1515198549490.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"630\" height=\"355\" \/><\/a><strong>3. Spider-Man: Homecoming<br \/>\n<\/strong>This one was a big surprise.\u00a0 After the last 5 (was it really 5?) Spider-Man movies, hope was low for this one being good, but the Marvel Cinematic Universe delivered.\u00a0 Spider-Man is just a kid here and he\u2019s figuring himself out, while doing so, he gets some help from a powerful friend.\u00a0 As he starts to get into his own, the film starts to get into its own as well.\u00a0 It\u2019s a fun film about coming of age with some special powers.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cinema-crazed.com\/blog\/2017\/07\/10\/spider-man-homecoming-2017\/\"><strong>For more, check out Felix\u2019s review<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Watch with:<\/strong> Captain America: Civil War<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cinema-crazed.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/Logan.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-27334 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.cinema-crazed.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/Logan.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"560\" height=\"373\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.cinema-crazed.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/Logan.png 560w, https:\/\/www.cinema-crazed.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/Logan-300x200.png 300w, https:\/\/www.cinema-crazed.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/Logan-2x1.png 2w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 560px) 100vw, 560px\" \/><\/a><strong>2. Logan<\/strong><br \/>\nLogan feels right, it fixes some of the past issues (albeit not all of them) with the way he\u2019s been portrayed in the previous entries, and it creates an aging version of him as well as Professor X which are satisfying as well as where they go with things for them.\u00a0 The film also brings up new character with fairly well developed background that could possibly be taken in its territory and its own series of film almost completely independent of the original films.\u00a0 This one is probably the most satisfying X-Men film without feeling like it\u2019s from the X-Men comics if that even makes sense.\u00a0 It\u2019s a solid entry in the series and a solid stand-alone film that could fairly easily be watched by someone with no background on the characters.\u00a0 Logan is a solid ending for its title character and could easily be a high point for the X-Men series or a solid high to end on.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cinema-crazed.com\/blog\/2017\/03\/20\/logan-2017-2\/\"><strong>My review<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/a><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cinema-crazed.com\/blog\/2017\/03\/17\/logan-2017\/\">Felix\u2019s review<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Watch with:<\/strong> The Wolverine<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cinema-crazed.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/The-Shape-of-Water-2-620x347.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-27313 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.cinema-crazed.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/The-Shape-of-Water-2-620x347.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"620\" height=\"347\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.cinema-crazed.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/The-Shape-of-Water-2-620x347.png 620w, https:\/\/www.cinema-crazed.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/The-Shape-of-Water-2-620x347-300x168.png 300w, https:\/\/www.cinema-crazed.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/The-Shape-of-Water-2-620x347-2x1.png 2w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 620px) 100vw, 620px\" \/><\/a><strong>1.
