\"\"<\/a>The yearly \u201cRock and Roll Hall of Fame\u201d induction ceremony is one of the more iconic and polarizing concerts, often inspiring a slew of controversy from music buffs and musicians alike. There\u2019s always a hailstorm of \u201cWhy not this band?\u201d or \u201cWhy not this artist?\u201d and you\u2019re always guaranteed to read an interesting headline of someone griping about an overdue band not getting their dues yet. Suffice to say whether the ceremony falls flat or it\u2019s raucous, it\u2019s almost always a promise you\u2019ll get an interesting experience. And that\u2019s from what we get to see on the edited annual broadcast on cable television. There are some bands and or artists excluded from this list as they have been omitted consciously, from what I\u2019ve read, but for your money it\u2019s a pretty solid release from Time Life I recommend.<\/p>\n

On Disc One, the 29th Annual Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony rom 2014, from the Barclays Center, Brooklyn, New York, there\u2019s the Peter Gabriel induction, as well as the Cat Stevens induction, and the Linda Ronstadt induction by the late great Glenn Frey. Most of the artists presented here perform, including \u201cWashing of the Water\u201d with Peter Gabriel and Chris Martin, and \u201cIn Your Eyes\u201d with Peter Gabriel with Youssou N’Dour. There\u2019s \u201cFather & Son\u201d with Cat Stevens and the Paul Shaffer and the Hall of Fame Orchestra, \u201cWild World\u201d with Cat Stevens and Paul Shaffer and the Hall of Fame Orchestra, and \u201cPeace Train\u201d from Cat Stevens with Paul Shaffer and the Hall of Fame Orchestra. Carrie Underwood sings \u201cDifferent Drum,\u201d and \u201cBlue Bayou\u201d is performed by Emmylou Harris, Bonnie Raitt, Carrie Underwood and Paul Shaffer and the Hall of Fame Orchestra.<\/p>\n

There\u2019s also \u201cYou\u2019re No Good\u201d by Sheryl Crow, Glenn Frey, Emmylou Harris, Bonnie Raitt, Carrie Underwood and Paul Shaffer and the Hall of Fame Orchestra, \u201cIt’s So Easy\u201d by Stevie Nicks, Sheryl Crow, Glenn Frey, Emmylou Harris, Bonnie Raitt, Carrie Underwood and Paul Shaffer and the Hall of Fame Orchestra, and \u201cWhen Will I Be Loved\u201d by Sheryl Crow, Emmylou Harris, Stevie Nicks, Bonnie Raitt, Carrie Underwood and Paul Shaffer and the Hall of Fame Orchestra. The E Street Band are inducted by Springsteen, while Michael Stipe inducts the surviving members of Nirvana. There\u2019s a stunning rendition of Smells Like Teen Spirit by Dave Grohl and Krist Novoselic with Joan Jett and Pat Smear, \u201cAneurysm\u201d by Dave Grohl and Krist Novoselic with Kim Gordon and Pat Smear, \u201cLithium\u201d by Dave Grohl and Krist Novoselic with Annie Clark and Pat Smearm\u201d and \u201cAll Apologies\u201d Dave Grohl and Kirst Novoselic with Annie Clark, Kim Gordon, Joan Jett, Lorde and Pat Smear<\/p>\n

The 30th Annual Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony held on 2015 at Public Hall in Cleveland, Ohio features a great induction ceremony to Joan Jett and the Blackhearts. After a fun speech by Miley Cyrus, there\u2019s a performance of \u201cBad Reputation,\u201d and \u201cCherry Bomb,\u201d accompanied by Dave Grohl and Gary Ryan. There\u2019s also \u201cCrimson and Clover\u201d with Miley Cyrus, Gary Ryan, Dave Grohl, and Tommy James. There\u2019s the induction of The Paul Butterfield Blues Band, and Stevie Wonder Inducts Bill Withers. Withers and Wonder sing \u201cAin\u2019t No Sunshine,\u201d and \u201cLean On Me,\u201d with latter accompanied by John Legend. Fall Out Boy inducts Green Day, and the band performs \u201cAmerican Idiot,\u201d \u201cWhen I Come Around,\u201d and \u201cBasket Case.\u201d<\/p>\n

John Mayer inducts the late great Stevie Ray Vaughn and Double Trouble, with a performance of \u201cTexas Flood\u201d accompanied by Double Trouble with Doyle Brahmhall II, Gary Clark Jr., John Mayer and Jimmie Vaughan. Patti Smith Inducts Lou Reed and there are performances of \u201cSatellite of Love\u201d featuring Beck, Jason Falkner, Roger Joseph Manning Jr., Nate Ruess and Paul Shaffer and the Hall of Fame Orchestra. Last but not least, there\u2019s the Ringo Starr Induction with Starr singing \u201cBoys\u201d with Green Day, \u201cIt Don\u2019t Come Easy\u201d with Joe Walsh, and \u201cI Wanna Be Your Man\u201d with Paul McCartney, Joe Walsh, Paul Shaffer and the Hall of Fame Orchestra and the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Jam Band.<\/p>\n

On Disc Two there\u2019s the The 31st Annual Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony from 2016 held at the Barclays Center. This ceremony Lars Ulrich inducts Deep Purple, and they perform their iconic hits \u201cHighway Star,\u201d and \u201cSmoke on the Water.\u201d Steven Van Zandt inducts Bert Berns, and Kendrick Lamar inducts N.W.A., all of whom give a very passionate speech in the face of the controversy that year involving Gene Simmons and his dismissal of hip hop as an art form. Rob Thomas inducts Chicago, and they sing their hits \u201cSaturday in the Park,\u201d \u201cDoes Anybody Really Know What Times It Is?\u201d with Rob Thomas, and \u201c25 or 6 to 4.\u201d Kid Rock inducts Cheap Trick, and the band performs \u201cI Want You to Want Me,\u201d \u201cDream Police,\u201d \u201cSurrender,\u201d and \u201cAin\u2019t That a Shame.\u201d<\/p>\n

Finally there\u2019s The 32nd Annual Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony from 2017 held at the Barclays Center. ELO is inducted and they perform \u201cRoll Over Beethoven,\u201d \u201cEvil Woman,\u201d and \u201cMr. Blue Sky.\u201d Jackson Browne inducts Joan Baez, and Baez sings \u201cSwing Low, Sweet Chariot,\u201d \u201cDeportee (Plane Wreck at Los Gatos)\u201d with Mary Chapin Carpenter, Amy Ray and Emily Saliers, and \u201cThe Night They Drove Old Dixie Down\u201d with Mary Chapin Carpenter, Amy Ray and Emily Saliers. Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson induct Yes, and they sing \u201cRoundabout\u201d with Geddy Lee, and \u201cOwner of a Lonely Heart.\u201d Snoop Dogg inducts the late Tupac Shakur, and Pat Monahan inducts Journey. The band performs \u201cSeparate Ways (Worlds Apart),\u201d \u201cLights,\u201d and \u201cDon\u2019t Stop Believin\u2019.\u201d Finally David Letterman inducts Pearl Jam, and the group performs \u201cAlive,\u201d \u201cGiven to Fly,\u201d and \u201cBetter Man.\u201d<\/p>\n

There are no special features on either disc, but the release comes with a great insert booklet with summaries of each ceremony.<\/p>\n
