\"\"<\/a>You\u2019re just not prepared for what Charles Phillip Moore has to offer you, the horror fan. Never have I seen such a bat shit insane, moronic horror movie that is so tough to digest, but goes down so well. \u201cDemon Wind\u201d is the epitome of bad low budget horror that seems to basically make it up as it goes along. By the time we reached the climax of the movie I literally just gave up trying to comprehend what I was watching and basically laugh my ass off at the sheer hideousness of it all.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

A group of young college people travel to a haunted house, led by young Cory (Eric Larson) and his girlfriend Elaine (Francine LaPensee). It seems that Cory’s ancestors were murdered there and his father became insane after investigating the incident. What they find is an occult meeting-place populated by demon zombies waiting for the appearance of Satan, all the while Cory and his friends look for a way back home.<\/p>\n

\u201cDemon Wind\u201d is a bonkers combination of \u201cEvil Dead,\u201d \u201cHouse,\u201d \u201cEvil Dead II,\u201d and \u201cNight of the Demons\u201d but with none of the wit, or creativity. So much of \u201cDemon Wind\u201d makes no sense that you\u2019ll spend more time trying to figure out the list of inexplicable scenes and plot twists more than actually sit down and experience what\u2019s unfolding. When it\u2019s nonsensical it\u2019s shockingly convoluted, referring a lot of junk about main character Cory\u2019s grandmother having a book of spells, fighting off a cult of Satanic worshippers, giving Cory some kind of magical power, and never once indicating that Cory should have stayed away from the house.<\/p>\n

There\u2019s also a lot of goofy moments like the appearance of ghostly quaker children, a gas station diner that serves goat milk on its menu, a naked dream sequence, a victim of the demon zombies being turned in to a baby doll and then exploding, and the introduction of a character involving him karate kicking a beer can in to someone\u2019s face. \u201cDemon Wind\u201d is an endless series of gaffs and baffling narrative points, that writer Charles Phillip Moore just seemed to cobble together anything and everything about monsters and demons that came to mind. If that\u2019s not enough the cast\u2019s performances vary from cardboard to comical, which isn\u2019t too surprising considering the more the narrative develops, the more incoherent everything becomes.<\/p>\n

For a movie with such a lush setting, \u201cDemon Wind\u201d could at least be a bare bones atmospheric chiller, but it fails to strike even the slightest spook, even botching attempts at jump scares. \u201cDemon Wind\u201d is so awful it\u2019s watchable, and it\u2019s one of those monstrosities from the nineties that have to be seen to be believed. Even then you descend in to denial that you ever bore witness to it.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
