\"\"<\/a>\u201cCaptain Marvel\u201d is one of the most popular contemporary Marvel superheroes and Marvel has taken advantage of the popularity of Carol Danvers, using her to pivot us in to the new generation of Marvel Cinematic Offerings. Captain Marvel is being tailored as the new leader that one that helps Marvel\u2019s superheroes charge in to battle. Much in the vein of \u201cCaptain America: The First Avenger,\u201d Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck\u2019s origin film will prove to appreciate in cinematic value, especially with Brie Larson at the helm as a powerful, and engaging cosmic heroine.<\/p>\n

Captain Marvel is a power extraterrestrial Kree warrior who finds herself caught in the middle of an intergalactic battle between her people and the evil shape shifting Skrulls. Living on Earth in 1995, she keeps having recurring memories of another life as U.S. Air Force pilot Carol Danvers, a daredevil and advanced pilot who vaguely remembers her life on Earth. With help from young Nick Fury, Captain Marvel tries to uncover the secrets of her past and recover her memories while harnessing her special superpowers to end the war with the evil Skrulls, and figure out once and for all why the Kree and Skrulls have been at war.<\/p>\n

\u201cCaptain Marvel\u201d is a new era in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as the company ventures out beyond the Earth and technology and begins exploring the vast universe beyond the stars. The company has done with slowly but surely, but \u201cCaptain Marvel\u201d is an all out science fiction superhero tale that dives in to the vast, sometimes surreal Marvel universe. Brie Larson is as great as always as Carol Danvers, a woman with a very confusing past who is struggling to come to terms with her own immense superpowers. Along the way there is a lot we get to learn about Danvers through flashbacks and hallucinations, and the writing team offer stark but bold implications about Danvers\u2019 life. Not only is she a strong warrior, but she\u2019s a strong warrior being held down by manipulative mentor known as Mar-Vell.<\/p>\n

As played by Jude Law, Mar-Vell is the repressive Male entity in the narrative working overtime to suppress any and all of Danvers\u2019 potential. \u201cCaptain Marvel\u201d is all around a briskly paced and entertaining science fiction action film with a bang up cast, including Annette Benning, Jude Law, and Samuel L. Jackson, respectively. If there are any caveats the whole idea involving flashbacks and false memories takes a bit to catch up with and can get a bit confusing at certain periods. And the way \u201cCaptain Marvel\u201d retcons the whole idea of the establishment of the Avengers was just unusual. So if \u201cCaptain America\u201d is the First Avenger, then what is Captain Marvel: the one who inspired the title of the team? In either case, I had a great time with \u201cCaptain Marvel,\u201d and I look forward to seeing Brie Larson expand this character and bring us along for more universe expanding films.<\/p>\n

The copy we received comes with a Blu-Ray copy and a Digital Copy for the consumer. Disney and Marvel pack the Digital copy with Digital exclusive features <\/strong>including \u201cJourney Into Visual Effects With Victoria Alonso,\u201d<\/strong> a seven minute look at how the filmmakers brought to life their vision for the MCU with the ace special effects. \u201cWhat Makes A Memory: Inside The Mind \u201cFrack\u201d\u201d<\/strong> is a four minute look at the combined efforts to create the action for the film. Finally, there\u2019s concept art<\/strong> and still images.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Blu-Ray comes with an Audio Commentary by directors\/screenwriters Anna Boden & Ryan Fleck<\/strong>, and an optional two minute introduction by directors\/screenwriters Anna Boden & Ryan Fleck<\/strong>. There are a series of six featurettes<\/strong> that add up to twenty three minutes, allowing viewers to play as one, or pick and choose. They explore casting, putting Captain Marvel on screen, origins of the Kree and Skrulls, and the always fun Goose the cat. There are eight minutes of deleted scenes<\/strong> including the scene that spread around the internet causing many a tear among some fan boys. Finally, there\u2019s a two minute gag reel<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
