Please introduce yourself:
\n<\/strong>Hi, I\u2019m Linnea Swanson. I act in horror short films and immersive theatre. I\u2019ve acted with BL4KM4SS and Zombie Joe\u2019s, and I am looking forward to more acting opportunities in the future! I also write reviews for HorrorBuzz.com and have found myself starting to dabble in writing poetry and other larger projects.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

What is it that attracts you the horror genre for your chosen field of creative work?
\n<\/strong>Ironically, I got into the horror genre prior to pursuing my creative work. I started working in a haunted 9maze in my neighborhood when I was in high school and fell in love with all things spooky. As I have gotten older, I have found fear and fear responses to be incredibly interesting. From an immersive acting standpoint, it\u2019s learning to adapt to how different people react. Some will find one thing scary, while others may be completely unphased by that same thing. As a participant, I always react loudly and visibly to jump scares; however, it takes a lot more to get the existential fear from me. These differences are absolutely fascinating and horror helps me to explore these responses.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Who inspires you in your work and in life?
\n<\/strong>Who doesn\u2019t inspire me? I am so lucky to be surrounded by incredibly talented and brilliant individuals who inspire me in my work and life. Those closest to me have inspired me in many different facets (you know who you are). Without them, I would probably not be the creator that I am today. It brings me immense joy to see them create and live, and their pursuits will always provide a positive influence in my life.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

What are your passions, cinematic or otherwise?
\n<\/strong>Besides immersive theatre and creating art, I would have to say learning new things and adding books to my To Be Read shelf faster than I can read the books on that shelf.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Considering this is 2022, why do you think we still need a movement like Women in Horror Month?
\n<\/strong>I think that the horror genre is a male-dominated genre. There are so many strong female voices that may not be heard as loudly as others. The Women in Horror Month provides a platform to amplify these voices and to honor those who have paved the path before us.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

What are your favorite bits of helpful advice that you have received about your work or your field?
\n<\/strong>My favorite piece of advice that I have received is to \u201ctrust the process\u201d. It started as advice for writing, but now I use it for pretty much everything! <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In honor of celebrating Women in Horror Month, who do you believe viewers should keep an eye on in terms of the creative ladies in horror?<\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong>
\n<\/span>Definitely Malvolia and Chainsaw Queen. These two are my biggest inspirations, and they\u2019re doing some rad things. I highly recommend checking them out!<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

What do you have coming soon that you can talk to us about?
\n<\/strong>I have a couple of acting and writing projects coming up. However, it is above my paygrade to discuss those in detail. ;)<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

What do you hope to leave behind in your legacy as an artist?
\n<\/strong>I hope I can either inspire someone to create art or make someone feel something. Some of my favorite productions have made me feel strong emotions, and I hope to one day do the same for someone else.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
