Traditional and digital horror-influenced artist Becky Doyon has some great work for all to see and a few secret projects up her sleeve.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Please introduce yourself:<\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong>
\n<\/span>My name is Becky Doyon. I’m an artist from Winslow, Maine who creates mostly horror related art using both traditional and digital mediums. Most of my free design time is spent drawing, painting, or playing around in Photoshop with my latest horror related idea. I am inspired by horror movies, books, and artists.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

What is it that attracts you the horror genre for your chosen field of creative work?<\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong>
\n<\/span>I like things that are visually dark. That\u2019s the main thing that attracts me to horror, and that\u2019s what I generally create artistically. There is also a strong community among horror fans\/creators\/collectors that I don\u2019t think exists in any other genre.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Who inspires you in your work and in life?<\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong>
\n<\/span>My artistic influences are Gerard Way, Rob Zombie, Terrance Zdunich, Basil Gogos, Odilon Redon, Richard Bosman, Edward Gorey, Tim Burton, and HR Giger.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

What are your passions, cinematic or otherwise?<\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong>
\n<\/span>Creating things that I\u2019m excited about. I enjoy watching a design\/illustration come together.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Considering this is 2022, why do you think we still need a movement like Women in Horror Month?<\/strong>
\n<\/span>I think it\u2019s a good way to introduce the world to new horror creators who happen to be women. I support any movement that might put more horror into the world. I think we\u2019ll get to a point where representation is more balanced, and the month will be less necessary.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

What would you tell an up-and-coming creative in the world of horror who sees that being a woman\/identifying as a woman as something that makes it so much more difficult at times?<\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong>
\n<\/span>I would say that women have made a lot of progress in horror, especially over the last few years. Just make sure you enjoy what you do and put it out there.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

What are your favorite bits of helpful advice that you have received about your work or your field?<\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong>
\n<\/span>I think the best advice I\u2019ve heard is to make sure you stay in touch with your network. You never know what might come along and who\u2019s mind you might pop into for their next project.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In honor of celebrating Women in Horror Month, who do you believe viewers should keep an eye on in terms of the creative ladies in horror?<\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong>

What do you have coming soon that you can talk to us about?
\n<\/strong>My designs will be popping up in a few movies very soon!<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

What do you hope to leave behind in your legacy as an artist?
\n<\/strong>I just want to leave behind a portfolio of art that people enjoy looking at. Nothing major.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
