Centered mostly on an eye witnessing these events, Schwedler bases the entire screenplay on this singular shot, which is what carries the movie to its finish line.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Inspired by too many recent events that threaten our existence, <em>Evolution<\/em> wishes to illustrate a progression where life inevitably leads to progress and progress to self-destruction. A circle that can only be broken if we open our eyes.<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019d be hard pressed to even call the script a script as it was probably only about two pages. There\u2019s no dialogue or basic narrative elements included, even if the message is conveyed well. With that, I think Romina Schwedler\u2019s entire mission statement is a volatile and relevant one as she cycles through the beginning of the world, its massive evolution, and its disintegration at the hands of human beings, all of which weirdly involve circles.<\/p>\n<p>The visuals work very well, and the special effects are sharp, I just wish we had a few more minutes to clarify the point better.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Cinequest Film &amp; Creativity Festival occurs in San Jose March 7<sup>th<\/sup> \u2013 March 17<sup>th<\/sup>.<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>At only a minute in length, Romina Schwedler\u2019s short experimental film is more of a montage of events and significant occurrences that side steps any kind of story.
