To start, please introduce yourself:
\n<\/strong>I<\/span>\u2019<\/span>m Heather Foster. An actor, screenwriter, and producer based in Houston, TX.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

What is horror to you, what makes a work of art one in the horror genre?<\/strong>
\nFor me, horror is anything that elects the feelings of dread and doom. The quickening of my breath and wanting to turn down the volume because I<\/span>\u2019<\/span>m too afraid to watch it with all my senses!\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

What made you want to work in horror?<\/strong>
\nI can<\/span>\u2019<\/span>t help<\/span> it<\/span>. All my stories naturally go there. I see horror everywhere. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Where do you get your inspiration?<\/strong>
\nLife. My mind likes to play tricks on me. I can find horror in the laundry.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

What would you like your legacy to be in the genre (or elsewhere)?<\/strong>
\nI would like to be known as a storyteller who makes you think long after the film is over. I like to tell multilayered tales.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

What is Women in Horror Month to you and why is it still important this many years later?<\/strong>
\nI<\/span>\u2019<\/span>m embarrassed to say that this is the first I<\/span>\u2019<\/span>ve heard about it. I have kept my cards close to my chest and haven<\/span>\u2019<\/span>t really reached out to network until very recently.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Who are some of the Women in Horror who you look up to and who do you want to bring attention to in your field or others?<\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong>
\n<\/span>I like Mary Harron<\/span>\u2019<\/span>s work, although I<\/span>\u2019<\/span>m not sure she’s considered horror. LOVED the <\/span>\u201c<\/span>Babadook<\/span>\u201d<\/span>– directed by Jennifer Kent! On a local note, I am having a blast collaborating with Nikki Durbin on her project <\/span>\u201c<\/span>The Occurrence in River Oaks<\/span>\u201d\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

What are you currently working on that you can tell us about?
\n<\/strong>I just finished my short <\/span>\u201c<\/span>Darlins<\/span>\u201d <\/span>and am in the process of submitting it to film festivals around the country.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Logline: When a writer cuts a creepy creature from her novel and turns down a would-be suitor, she finds her editing choices have dire consequences.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
