Filmed through very murky black and white, \u201cPrinter Head\u201d watches like an office drones bad dream and it never stops being a royal mind fuck.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Alex is a normal minimum wage office worker whose superior tasks him with the duty of printing a very important document by the end of the day. Broke and with no printer with immediate vicinity he tracks down hooded man selling a used printer for cheap. When he takes it home, he realizes that printing the document will prove to be pure hell.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPrinter Head\u201d is a very good exaggeration of the whole idea of self sacrifice and giving away of piece of ourselves in order to please superiors and accomplish our jobs. With Alex he finds that the road to getting his document printed just gets worse and worse to where he begins confronting almost horrifying obstacles. McIlvain does a great job bringing this weird premise to life, constructing a vision that feels absolutely surreal and claustrophobic. Star Jeremiah Soderstrom is very good in what is a mostly non-verbal role, playing on a character who is slowly going mad with his new printer.<\/p>\n<p>You wouldn\u2019t think a short about a malfunctioning printer would be so dark, but McIlvain and co. are very creative in how they transform a cheap printer into some device from hell.
