To start, please introduce yourself:
\n<\/strong>Dani Lennon is a Chicago Native that has been performing most of her life. Originally a classically trained singer, she performed all over Europe, Carnegie Hall, Television and Musical Theatre. Dani took part in stage productions all over Chicago where she worked with many talented actors and Steppenwolf directors.<\/p>\n

Dani moved to Los Angeles where she has been working consistently in Television, Soaps, Film, Digital and Voice Over. In addition to acting and singing, Dani’s interests and talents are extended behind the camera as a Screenwriter and a Creative Producer. Multi award winning actress and nominee for her work in Bite Me, To Your Last Death and \u2018The Shasta Triangle\u2019. My most known projects are \u201cBite Me\u201d, The Love Witch and \u2018The Shasta Triangle.<\/p>\n

What is horror to you, what makes a work of art one in the horror genre?<\/strong>
\nHorror is everything to me. I grew up around it, bonding with family over our love for the genre. What makes a work of art is stunning visuals, cutting edge storytelling and directing.<\/p>\n

What made you want to work in horror?<\/strong>
\nAliens with Sigourney Weaver. It was a moment in horror and Sci-Fi where the final girl is not only a survivor but strong and intelligent. A hero overcoming otherworldly obstacles. I saw Silence of the Lambs when I was quite young, and I had the foresight to see where strong female leads were headed. The content, the story, the writing was going beyond a stereotypical slasher. Flawed, vulnerable, brave and 3 dimensional characters that we hadn\u2019t seen a lot of before. Here we are decades later with movies such as The Substance.<\/p>\n

Where do you get your inspiration? <\/strong>
\nI draw from life. My greatest fears coming to fruition and using that in my work.<\/p>\n

What would you like your legacy to be in the genre (or elsewhere)?<\/strong>
\nIn the genre, I\u2019d like to be remembered for my versatility and consistent vulnerability and honesty as a horror actress. Elsewhere, I\u2019d like to be known as inspiring. Having to overcome many obstacles, barriers, challenges and tragedy, I\u2019ve lived my life fearless with determination.<\/p>\n

What is Women in Horror Month to you and why is it still important this many years later? <\/strong>
\nTrail blazing. Some of the most beautiful and important work onscreen has been done in horror. It\u2019s relative, that although the interest and intensity of the genre is growing, it still deserves the recognition for some of the best characters, writing and atmosphere that exist onscreen. Women being at the center of it.<\/p>\n

Who are some of the Women in Horror who you look up to and who do you want to bring attention to in your field or others? <\/strong>
\nMia Goth, Maika Monroe, Kate Seigel, Sarah Paulson etc.<\/p>\n

What are you currently working on that you can tell us about?<\/strong>
\nAt this time I\u2019m focused on my return to music. But you never know what\u2019s around the corner.<\/p>\n
