As it is the 30th Anniversary of Fantasia, we (well, I on behalf of the team and site) will reshare reviews we’ve done for the fest including those done during the fest and those done for films that have played at the fest that we reviewed at other times to give an idea of the scope of Fantasia and how important it is for the film industry as a whole.
2020, feels like a another time, another world (and the only 100% online edition of Fantasia), let’s see what we covered at the fest itself and what we covered at other times that also played Fantasia, starting with the films that played at the fest:
From Felix:
For the Sake of Vicious
Alone
Class Action Park
Feels Good, Man
Hail to the Deadites
Clapboard Jungle
Yummy
Morgana
From Emilie:
The Curse of Audrey Earnshaw
Detention
A Mermaid in Paris (Une Sirene a Paris)
A Witness Out of the Blue
The Paper Tiger
Lucky
You Cannot Kill David Arquette
I WeirDO
Life: Untitled
Sheep Without a Shepherd
Crazy Samurai Musashi (aka Crazy Samurai 400 vs 1)
Fried Barry
Baby: The Secret Diary of a Mom to Be
Yummy
As most know by now, Fantasia is a great place for films to premiere, get picked up for distribution if they don’t already have a distributor in place, and generally to make waves, which leads to these films landing on our proverbial desks throughout the year. Here are some of the others from Fantasia 2020 that we have reviewed through the years between Fantasia 2021 and Fantasia 2026 (some during the fest but from other sources and some before):
From Felix:
From Emilie:
12 Hour Shift
Anything For Jackson
Bleed With Me
Come True
The Dark and the Wicked
Jumbo
The Mortuary Collection
The Oak Room
Savage State (L’Etat Sauvage)
The Sting of Death
As we constantly review new films, classics, and re-releases, this list is only complete as of right this moment (at time of posting) and will likely become incomplete at some point.
Fantasia 2026 runs from July 16th to August 2nd, 2026
