It’s officially over, Fantasia 2022 ended on the 3rd of August, 2022.
It means that the reviews you’ve seen here in the last few weeks will be it for this year. It was a fun year even though I couldn’t attend in person due to budgetary limitation and well, not wanting to be in a metal tube with hundreds of my closest strangers just yet. So, I did the reviewer thing from home as many others so. I missed all my Fantasia family, all the hugs, the endless film talk at the pub, the bagels at 4am, the trips to Dunns, the random meetings of kindred souls, all of it. But! I was lucky enough to be able to cover from home and get to see a bundle of their films. Thanks to all those who helped make that possible.

It looks like the only title from my Most Wanted Films of Fantasia 2022 that I was not able to see was Detectives Vs Sleuths, not bad.
All in all, a good year of Fantasia goodness. It’s hard to pick a favorite, but I have to say that the first film of the bunch, Special Delivery, may be at the top this year for me. The top film in competition per the fest was Megalomaniac, which was quite good as well and which won a bunch of the fest’s prizes.
