The Last Footage [2026] [Fantasia 2026]
The Last Footage, coming from Myanmar from director Arkar Soe Oo, is a film that has a lot going for it, but it also squanders others, coming out a mixed but positive reaction. But even with that, it’s a film I’m very glad to have checked out among the Fantasia Film Festival 2026 lineup.

Body and Soul (1925)
Mostly recalled today for Paul Robeson’s film debut and as one of the few surviving silent productions created by the pioneering Black filmmaker Oscar Micheaux, “Body and Soul” has more value as a historic curio than as a work of cinematic art.
