Ranking “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre” Movies from Best to Worst

“Who Will Survive and What Will be Left of Them?”

It’s been an interesting year for “Texas Chainsaw Massacre” fans as the movie series has finally been adapted in to what is, by all accounts, a popular survival video game. It’s also incidentally the twenty year anniversary of the shockingly popular Marcus Nispel remake, which continues to win new fans. With that said, I gave my personal ranking to all of the “Texas Chainsaw Massacre” films in the series. As always feel free to offer your own rankings or rebuttals the comments.

Five of My Favorite Childhood B Movie Queens

Growing up during the video age, and with cable television, you tend to come across a lot of recurring faces. Over the years I’ve managed to build a list of some of my all time favorite B movie queens, and these five are only a select few of the many women that influenced my love for cult cinema, and inspired me to dig deeper in to underground and horror cinema over the years.

Five Great Minority Movie Heroes: October Edition

It’s spooky season and I thought it’d be a good time to whip out another edition of “Great Minority Movie Heroes” but leaning in to the horror genre. That’s admittedly a hard task, but I listed five really interesting and likable minority movie heroes of the horror genre.

Ranking the “Scary Movie” Series from Best to Worst

By the end of the 1990’s, the big slasher movie boom had all but run out of steam, allowing the sub-genre to be ripe for spoofing. In came the Wayans family, all of whom had had previous experience with spoofs in the eighties with their classic “I’m Gonna Git You Sucka!” Keenan Ivory Wayans took the lead directing “Scary Movie” for Dimension Films, which not only goofed on many of the films released during that period, but had a good time with it, too.

While “Scary Movie” promised “no sequels,” we did get them because—it’s Hollywood, after all. We received about four sequels to be exact, and they all arrived with very diminishing returns. Sadly, the more the movies went on, the worse they became, so it’s ironic that the series gets worse in order of the films’ release.

Here’s my ranking of the series from best to worst.

Ranking “The Exorcist” Series from Best to Worst

It’s been fifty years since the release of the late, great William Friedkin’s horror masterpiece “The Exorcist” and we’re getting two really big, and anticipated sequels that follow after the original film. “Believer” is setting high expectations and has a high bar to hit. “The Exorcist” has yet to be topped by its follow ups, or its bevy of imitators. Here’s my list of films from “The Exorcist” series from Best to Worst. Fingers crossed “Believer” ends up wowing fans and audiences alike.

Ranking the Ghostface Killers from Favorite to Least

The first rule of Ghostface in “Scream,” is that it’s always someone you know. No matter what’s happening to the main characters, the killer or killers are always someone within close vicinity that have a personal connection with you. To date there have been multiple people that have taken up the mantle of Ghostface, especially since the “Scream” movie series is six movies in, and on the way to the seventh. So now that “Scream 6” made a big hit at theaters in 2023, I thought I’d break down the Ghost Face killers from favorite from least favorite.

The list does exclude the killers from the MTV “Scream” series, of course, as I’m sticking mainly to the movie series continuity.

Feel free to let me know what your ranking would be in the comments.

Seven Horror Baddies that Deserved to Be Bigger

For every Jason Voorhees, Michael Myers, Chucky, and Freddy Krueger we have, there are at least two dozen horror villains that either fell in to obscurity, or were never fully realized. Every horror geek has their own list of horror baddies that they felt could have and should have risen to mainstream popularity, or icon status, but alas sometimes the horror world isn’t in their favor. These are seven horror villains that deserved more films, or better films than they received, in the end.

What are some of your beloved horror baddies you think deserved a huge fan base or franchise?
