Five Horror Movies with Great Soundtracks

While many love a good horror movie, a movie is only as good as the music that accompanies it. While some movies choose scores, some horror movies also implement a great soundtrack to go along with it. Often times that soundtrack becomes a recurring element throughout the film, enhancing the experience two fold. A good soundtrack is very important, and these are five great horror films with some Great soundtracks.

The Five Scariest Studio Ghibli Monsters

Founded in 1985, Studio Ghibli has managed to give us some of the most fantastic, scariest, and emotional animated movies ever made. Along the way with masters like Hayao Miyazaki and Isao Takahata, we’ve always been introduced to some truly heinous beasts and entities that have either passed through these worlds or met the heroes of these respective films. Among the myriad, these are five of, what I deem, the Scariest Studio Ghibli Monsters.

Five More Promised Sequels That Never Happened

End of the movie stingers can be a double edged sword. They can be the promise of huge, great things to come. But often times if and when we never get a sequel or promised follow up, we’re always left hanging and begging studios for some kind of resolution or extension of a story. Nine times out of ten, the studios don’t oblige movie fans. These days studios are getting bolder, offering end of movie, mid-credit, and or post credit scenes, many of which promise new developments for sequels or spin offs. Sometimes they’re great and sometimes… they amount to nothing.

Five Great UFO Movies

UFO’s and aliens are the hot topic once again in the media and the resurgence of talks about aliens, as well as the upcoming feature “No One Will Save You” coming to Hulu on Friday, I listed five great movies based around UFO’s and Aliens. Ranking “The Conjuring” Universe From Best to Worst

I’m a big fan of James Wan’s “The Conjuring” movie universe as it’s one of the most effective, fascinating, and scary library of horror movies ever produced. While the legacy of Ed and Lorraine Warren is infamous, the fictional Ed and Lorraine Warren are great cinematic horror heroes, and they’ve been the center of one of the more diverse horror movie series to come along in a while. What with “The Nun 2” coming to theaters this week, I ranked the whole “The Conjuring” movie universe from the best to the worst.

Let me know how you’d rank the movies in the comments!

Five Great Minority Movie Heroes, Part VII

This Friday sees the release of “Blue Beetle” one of DC Comics’ most popular teen superheroes who’s garnered much acclaim and fandom over the years. The new vision of the classic DC Comics hero spotlights Jaime Reyes, a young latino teen given an alien technology which grants him a super powered body of armor that allows him to become a powerful superhero. With a great cast, and what looks like excellent action, I’m hoping “Blue Beetle” garners as much success as 2023’s “Spider-Verse” movie. In either case, in anticipation here is the seventh edition of our “Minority Movie Heroes” series.

These are five more minority movie heroes we loved.

Five Underappreciated Comic Book Style Movies

There was a weird period in the aughts where movie studios were becoming more and more open to adapting superhero and comic book movies, but weren’t quite committed just yet. Meanwhile they did release some movies that were comic book like in nature and concept, and while they kind of bombed critically and or financially, I enjoyed them quite a bit. A few of them were even ahead of their time in many respects. Here are five that I think are woefully under appreciated, and deserve more notice, even if they aren’t what I’d call flawless or masterpieces.
