SYNOPSIS:
Lawman Billy Carson [Buster Crabbe] orchestrates a plan that sees a band of prisoners, led by Link Daggett [Kermit Maynard] and Tom Hanlon [Robert Meredith], to escape from their confinement in search of a sizable amount of money, stolen from Piedmont County ranchers, they’ve hidden away. Hanlon has second thoughts about escaping with Daggett and his gang and starts to head back to prison only to be shot in the back by Daggett.

Buffalo Bill, Jr. [Jay Wilsey] is on the run from authorities for a crime he did not commit and flees to Trona County. He bears witness to Buck Townsley [Jack Mower] training for a big race and decides he wants a piece of the action. Knowing that Bill is a wanted man, Jim [Lafe McKee] and his cohorts blackmail Bill in to throwing the race so they can recoup the money made from the townsfolk who have bet on Bill to win.

Western Wednesdays: The Apache Kid’s Escape (1930)
SYNOPSIS:
The Apache Kid [Jack Perrin] is being pursued by the law when he catches up with his old partner, Buck Harris [Bud Osborne], and tells him that he wants to give up his life of crime. He receives a letter from his sister, Jean, asking him to return home to help care for their ailing mother. The Kid and Buck engage in a fistfight and the Kid takes off. The Sheriff catches up with Harris, who agrees to assist the sheriff track down Apache. The kid rides at breakneck speed, right off a cliff in to a massive body of water.

After a series of mysterious murders at the Circle T Ranch, owner Homer Thorp [Horace Murphy] decides it is best to enlist some outside help to track down the phantom killer. When Thorp himself is shot, his daughter Carol [Luana Walters] insists there be action taken. In comes the Range Busters consisting of “Crash” Corrigan [Ray “Crash” Corrigan], “Dusty” King [John “Dusty” King] and “Alibi” Terhune [Max “Alibi” Terhune] with his dummy Elmer to unravel the mystery and they immediately engage in a brawl with Torrence [Leroy Watson] and his henchmen.

Western Wednesdays: The Devil’s Playground (1946)
SYNOPSIS:
Hopalong Cassidy [William Boyd] along with his saddlemates California Carlson [Andy Clyde] and Lucky Jenkins [Rand Brooks] discover Mrs. Evans [Elaine Riley] running away from their shack just outside of the canyon known as the Devil’s Playground. They board her for the night while Hoppy goes out to investigate. His trail leads him to the Devil’s Playground as well as shifty Judge Morton [Robert Elliott] and his gang. Morton claims that Evans is his daughter and that he has been attempting to locate her. They head back to the shack only to find Evans has escaped with Carlson’s clothes on her back.

Special investigator Sunset Carson [Sunset Carson] is recruited by the governor of the territory of New Mexico, L. Bradford Prince [Frank Jaquet], to investigate a diamond smuggling ring taking place at the border. Along the way he meets city slicker Aloysius J. Phillpotts [Olin Howland] and makes him his saddlemate and partner and rechristens him “Deadeye.”
