October 7: Bearing Witness to the Massacre (2025)

The massacre perpetrated by Hamas against Israeli civilians on October 7, 2023, resulted in the deaths of approximately 1,200 people and the kidnapping of over 250 men, women, and children – the worst single assault on Jews since the Holocaust.

The documentary “October 7: Bearing Witness to the Massacre” shares graphic video footage from the unprovoked Hamas attack on the Nova Music Festival and the destruction brought upon the communities surrounding that event. Much of this footage was taken by the Hamas and was considered too graphic for broadcast on American television, and sensitive viewers needs to be aware in advance of the carnage that was captured on video.

Todd Morehead, the founder and director of Grafted Ministries, directed the film and tours the sites of the attacks while speaking with survivors, former hostages and first responders. The resulting work is a sobering consideration of courage and trauma in the wake of a depraved viciousness. The film also provides a much-needed history lesson on the roots of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict that provides context regarding the source of the ongoing violence.

With the second anniversary of the massacre approaching and the attempts to secure a long-elusive peace between Israel and Hamas now dominating the headlines, Morehead’s film is perfectly timed for release.
