Two friends who have a web series about obscure monsters receive a tape showing a potential new one that they must investigate. As they reach the location of the tape’s filming, they meet a man who seems a little off at best. From there, they go in search of the monster and find… something.
Director Ti West has always been a master of building up his films and then diving in to a massive explosion. It can still be seen with his first film “The Roost,” his bang up cult gem “House of the Devil,” and he continues that tradition with “X.” Much of “X” was shrouded in mystery upon its release, and while it’s definitely wearing its obvious influences on its sleeve, make no mistake: everything you see here, everything that unfolds, all of it is definitely from Ti West.
A young girl wants a snack and decides to microwave ground meat. To her surprise, the meat comes to life as Meat Friend and becomes her best friend, her advisor, and a bit of an odd character to say the least.
A trio of influencers take a trip to the desert to stay at the house of one of their father’s house to create some content, catch some rays, and spend some girl-time together. Soon, something falls from the sky and requires their attention if they want to survive.
A couple goes to therapy as they have come to the point where they want to kill each other. Once there, they talk and come to a solution that keeps them both happy.
A young man gets hit by a car, the man who hit him visits in the hospital and then invites him to stay with his family while he gets better. As the two get to know each other, the man hires the young man to write his biography. Random things follow.
“Creepshow” hasn’t been a perfect revival, but it’s garnered some great enthusiasm that’s made it a modern reboot that’s worth watching. Filled with some great performances, sick tales, and excellent gore, “Creepshow” has ensured a long stay, especially with the second season stepping up its game. The new release from Shudder and AMC packs all six episodes on to the Blu-Ray along with some great extras and I compiled five of the best segments of the second season you should look out for.
