Ben is a very masterful rider whose every move depends on his survival, and he devises a slick way of garnering the attention of the walking dead. Match that with the detachable machetes for his bike, and he’s a one man army prepared to pick up some supplies for what will likely be a long wait for normalcy or rescue. There isn’t much of a narrative to this short, but there’s the definite dread of the walking dead creeping out of every corner. When Ben stages his lure, the dead begin walking out from every crevice definitely bringing shades of “Day of the Dead” in to the fold. “Getting Gas…” is another really entertaining and creepy chapter in the short film series. I wish we could see how the group eventually fared.
