Special Delivery (2022) [Fantasia 2022]
This year’s viewings of films from Fantasia starts off strong with a film about a North Korean defector who works as a delivery driver for a company that handles what the post office and other delivery companies will not handle. One a run where she is supposed to pick up a father and son and bring them to the port, she ends up with the kid whose father has been murdered for what was in his possession and now those who killed him are after his child.

A young girl whose mother has set impossibly high standards for finds an egg in the woods and decide to raise it as her own. What hatches from the egg is something otherworldly and a bit shocking. As she bonds with this being, her life takes many unexpected turns.
Virus :32 (2022)
In the age of COVID there’s a re-emergence of virus horror films (like it or lump it), and “Virus :32” is one of the many that’s unique. It’s unique in that it really wants to be considered a part of the “28 Days Later” canon, even lifting bars from the score track “In the House.” It’s not to say that “Virus :32” is a bad movie. It’s actually a very solid survival horror drama if you’re hungry for a good zombie picture and have nothing else at hand to watch.
