Papercuts (2013)

When I finished “Paper Cuts” I was admittedly baffled. I stared at the screen and wondered what the hell I’d just seen and then wanted more. “Paper Cuts” is that very silly but fun horror short film that has great potential to be feature length, with enough resources, and I’d really like to see this be brought to Troma fame for its ability to just cleverly make a great horror villain out of office equipment.

After an officer worker is discovered mutilating himself in front of a printer, the office hires a new drone to fill in for the deceased maniac. When the new guy in the office begins getting angry messages from the printer things go from confusing to loony tunes in minutes flat. “Paper Cuts” is a fearless and really goofy horror short that has no quarrels about being silly because it embraces its demented tone and never lets up.

How many horror movies have a villain emerge from a haunted printer, anyway? And how many killers dispatch of a man by blinding him with paper cuts? “Paper Cuts” is really for the open minded horror geek who appreciates some off the wall bonkers humor with their slashers. While some gags fall flat, “Paper Cuts” works for being creative and downright insane. For a twelve minute short it delivers in gore, solid performances, and some entertaining humor.
