Mill Creek Entertainment releases a veritable bevy of 20 films spotlighting the undead and vampires of the sort, all of which is your typical selection you can find literally anywhere online. Sets like this usually consist of nothing but public domain and easily affordable classic horror movies and Television movies, some of which deserve to be shun in to obscurity and others are well worth the re-watch. For any horror buff looking to start their collection, a set like this is the best way to build up the numbers and school yourself in the bare essentials, and with this set Mill Creek gives the consumer four discs, all of which have some rather memorable horror films revolving around the concept of the undead.

The Addams Family: The Complete Series (DVD)
There will always be a place for America’s ghoulish family The Addams and I assume in lieu of the proposed Tim Burton re-launch, the Hanna Barbera animated series from the early seventies is something of a necessary property to re-live the nostalgia for fans of the franchise and help them hunger for Burton’s new vision. Featuring the entire series in a four DVD set, “The Addams Family” is quite a departure from the normality of the creepy Addams Family this time venturing out beyond the series to offer up some Scooby Doo mystery solving.
One of the highlights of the series is the discovery that a young Jodie Foster (Yes, that Jodie Foster) voices Wednesday Addams. Beyond that this is a typical cash in from the Hanna Barbera legacy. Instead of leaving them in one place to cope with everyday life, instead the Addams take their show on the road driving around in a humongous Victorian Mansion/RV that brings aboard all of the Addams for the fun.
One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest: Ultimate Collector's Edition (DVD)

Milos Forman’s masterpiece of dramatic filmmaking is a movie that has managed to elude me for literal years. I’ve tried to track down “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest” for ages (it’s been my white whale), and every time it’s been one more of the many classics that was easily out of my grasp for one reason or another. Being given the opportunity to watch the film finally in a touched up widescreen edition with 5.1 surround sound managed to be the experience I’ve been waiting for, and Forman’s master opus is well worth the hype.
The Big Bang Theory: The Complete Third Season (DVD) (2009)
The series that many were afraid wouldn’t last beyond one season is now going on to season four, and the release of season three sees something of a rut within a rather entertaining and easily charming television series that has appealed to fanboys and nerds across the board since its premiere. While I’m not a fan of the comparisons to “Friends,” the CBS series about four brilliant geniuses obsessed with their toys and video games balanced by their ditzy neighbor Penny is about as close to get to a strong and potentially long lasting ensemble comedy.
“The Big Bang Theory” has appealed to folks like me for years since its series premiere, and sadly the third season is not the best that the writers have to offer. After returning from the Arctic, the guys come home to a new way of life, one of which involves Leonard’s relationship with Penny that meets its obstacles. One of them is the lack of clear sexual tension and romantic tension that the first two seasons strived in.
Smallville: The Complete Ninth Season (DVD)
Yes, whether we Superman fans like it or not, “Smallville” is on its ninth season and continues to stagger on like the mummy. You know it’s falling apart, but nevertheless it just continues to shamble on and on. “Smallville: The Complete Ninth Season” on DVD only signifies that the series has done every single thing imaginable to stray away from the true Superman mythos in an attempt to not only keep the general fans of the show interested, but to dodge the continuing lawsuit DC is enduring from the Shuster family.
Flight of the Conchords: The Complete Collection (2010) (DVD)
Like all foreign entertainment if you’re willing to keep a wide open mind and are willing to be open to something completely new and off the wall, then “Flight of the Conchords” is the series for you. Admittedly, the New Zealand sitcom about two folk singers slowly working their way to music fame in the New York landscape is an acquired taste, and one that I had a bit of a time adjusting to, especially considering the series will screech to a halt to switch to musical numbers sung by either of the two gentlemen here.
Everwood: The Complete Third Season (DVD)
“Everwood” was always the wonderful drama on the WB that was humble, but very emotional and gripping. At its cheesiest it was basically bearable to sit through, but most times it was absolutely compelling to watch and enjoy in its scenic and conservative sensibilities. Every thread and character was just magnificent and it’s good that Warner has finally released every season on DVD once and for all allowing folks a chance to see what they may have missed out on. It’s a shame because the third season is where the writers were finally finding their strides and developing some fantastic new sub-plots.
