I'm Gonna Git You Sucka! (1988)

Up until “Black Dynamite” came along and proved me wrong, “I’m Gonna Git You Sucka” was the best satire of blaxploitation movies ever made. As one of the very few comedies the Wayans brothers ever directed, “I’m Gonna Git You Sucka” both mocks and pays tribute to the blaxploitation genre, harping on various tropes of the sub-genre from the seventies that filled many grindhouse theaters across the world. What makes “I’m Gonna Git You Sucka” even better is that even if you have never seen a film from the sub-genre, you’ll still pretty much laugh until the final scene.

Big Bang Theory: A XXX Parody (2010)

aMG91IEIf you want to revel in the sexuality of “Big Bang Theory” and want to avoid all of the stuff like plot and comedy, “Big Bang Theory: A XXX Parody” really will do the trick. Fans of the series will especially enjoy how the parody skirts copyright infringement by copying every set piece from the show. Sans the comic book and science fiction paraphernalia. So uber-Sheldon doesn’t wear superhero shirts, so much as he wears shirts that kind of look like they could be superhero emblems.

Cemetery High (1989)

cem-highBasically, Gorman Bechard’s “Cemetery High” is a comedy spoof of every rape revenge movie you’ve ever seen. Except when it tries to be funny, it fails painfully. When it tries for exploitation revenge, it manages to be a pretty absurd and interesting bit of revenge horror. I wonder why someone thought mocking this material would make for an entertaining movie. Granted, the tale of women striking down rapists isn’t exactly a dramatic bit of cinematic fare, especially in the late eighties, but mocking the material so incessantly feels so shoe horned, the comedy is awkward rather than unfunny.

The Lord of the G-Strings: The Femaleship of the String (2003)

gstringsI still don’t quite understand the appeal of Seduction Cinema. Hell, even I find the movies they release to be entertaining and appealing. The women are hot, sure, but this is the age of the internet where pictures and videos of hot women are at your finger tips in seconds. And surely there are more hardcore films out there with hotter women. Surely, it can’t be the sex scenes since all of the sequences involve light kissing and mild petting. Watching a movie from Seduction Cinema is akin to getting your crotch rubbed over thick pants.

Transylmania (2009)

transylmania“Transylmania” is a pretty much just a waste of time. It rips from better horror comedies and tries in vain to construct something new and fails at every single turn imaginable. Go see “Transylvania Twist,” or “Young Frankenstein,” or “Abbot and Costello Meet Frankenstein,” or “Hold That Ghost” if you want to view what a true horror comedy is capable of. Hell, go see “Dracula Dead and Loving It” if you want to see a film that never quite manages to make use of its horror farce status but is still ten times better than “Transylmania.” It feels as if they wrote out a story (assuming there is a story) that involved a bunch of moronic college kids going to a foreign country. And then someone along the way figured they’d make some cash off the vampire craze and injected a lot of faux horror themes in to the script.

Airplane! (1980)

b9Fu48FIs there a comedy more perfect than “Airplane!”? I ask you. It’s in the list of the five perfect comedies ever made, and is definitely one of my top ten comedy films of all time, as well as one of my favorite movies of all time. It’s a film that appeals to folks who appreciate subtle comedy, raunchy comedy, silly comedy, and comedy that doesn’t require any thought at all. There are sight gags, puns, word plays, double entendres, and gratuitous nudity. There’s action, romance, suspense, stunts, and two jive talking passengers no one understands. There’s Kareem Abdul Jabar being Kareem Abdul Jabar, Peter Graves being a lunatic, Leslie Nielsen delivering the most genius deadpan comedic performance of his career, Lloyd Bridges who has an unusual history with recreational substances, and Ethel Merman for some reason.

Alvin and the Chipmunks: Batmunk (2012)

Batmunk-3Based on the research I’ve done, “Batmunk” is being packaged as a one hour special featuring Alvin and the Chipmunks re-telling the story of Batman. Clearly it’s to market off of the upcoming Batman film release and the fan base may not be any the wiser. Basically, “Batmunk” is an hour long re-packaged set of Chipmunks cartoons, one of which is Batmunk and the other is Treasure Island. With no original title cards or theme songs, the cartoon segments are presented in disconnected formats with Batmunk being the first of the stories.
