Ever since I was a kid I’ve always heard about “Monty Python”, but I never knew what they were famous for. Then I became older and learned about them from my uncle. Later on, I decided to try them out, so I bought “Monty Python and The Holy Grail”, my uncle told me that if I wanted to be introduced to “Monty Python”, this movie would be the perfect place to start. Monty Python is definitely not for folks used to the conventional and humdrum. They’re bold, and often gutsy in their skill sets to arouse laughter from audiences.

The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (2001)
Okay, I’ll admit it. I’ve never read the entire Lord of the Rings series, but I am a casual fan. I’m in the midst of reading “The Hobbit”, which is of course the prequel to “The Lord of the Rings” Series, and I’ve seen the Ralph Bakshi Cartoon version of the series which is good, but not all great. But when I saw this, I was in for some ride. The movie begins by telling the story of Bilbo Baggins, who went on a journey to retrieve the ring and returns to Hobbiton, then it tells the story of the nine rings and how they came to get under the possession of the elf kings, humans, and dwarves. But then we hear about the evil tyrant, Sauron who created his own ring on “Mount Doom”. A ring more powerful then them all. A ring so powerful that it could corrupt even the most purest of souls.
Battlefield Earth (2000)
There’s really only one way to summarize my sheer hatred for what is possibly one of the worst movies I’ve ever seen. And it’s through a list.
1. The lighting is incredibly amateur with darkness where it should be light, and light where is should be dark. It seems a monkey lit the entire movie and most of the time the director doesn’t know how to set the mood.
Mission: Impossible 2 (2000)
This is the action-packed sequel to the dull “Mission: Impossible” based on the show from the 60’s. Now. this is a change from the confusing original and a very good sequel. It’s about an agent from IMF who steals a very deadly virus. Ethan Hunt is enlisted by Anthony Hopkins who tells him to enlist three members for his team to retrieve virus. One of which is the beautiful Nyah who Ethan falls in love with.

10. Batman and Robin

Not even the Filipino and Turkish rip off s of Batman are as bad as this abomination that embraces Batman more than the previous films, but in exchange, rounds out a diasterpiece that’s unwatchable, embarrassing, and ruined the careers of nineties up and comers Chris O’Donnell and Alicia Silverstone. Only because of his connections and willingness to carve out relevant and excellent films was George Clooney able to come out of this unwatchable farce with barely a scratch. Now wholly diving in to homoerotic imagery and the like, Batman and Robin are a bickering couple of crime fighters who want to struggle for power and fame among Gotham’s citizens.
They run around in bright costumes, fighting other glittery thugs, and even have skates on their boots. What’s missing is a make out scene between Dick Grayson and Bruce Wayne. To cut the inherent sexual tension between the two men, the film brings aboard two feminine personalities in the form of Batgirl and Poison Ivy, both of whom have little to do but entice the dynamic duo. “Batman and Robin” is a low in cinema and comic book adaptations that tests my endurance every time I try to sit down and watch it the entire way through.
X-Men (2000)
Based on the hit comic book from Marvel Comics, we go into the not too distant future where a brand-new race of highly evolved human beings born with super powers are constantly ostracized with prejudice by the human race. The revolutionary Professor X leads a band of peaceful mutants who want nothing but to live and co-exist peacefully with humans, but he is constantly troubled by senators who want to treat the new race and keep them on tabs by a program called “Mutant Registration”. Now, his powerful metal controlling adversary known as Magneto who leads evil fugitive mutants who seek to halt Professor X’ plans and strike down the human race. I was really looking forward to “X-Men” since its initial announcement from Fox about its production.

10. HIGH FIDELITY (2000) (Starring: John Cusack, Jack Black) – I don’t like romantic comedies, I really don’t, but this movie was a romantic comedy told from the honest and thus sexual perspective of an adult man, trying to decide whether to give up on a girl or try to win her back. It’s also the story of a niche geek, which I am, struggling to decide whether to keep his hobby even though it makes him an outcast, or come to terms with it and profit from it. I generally don’t like Cusack, but here, he turns in a banner performance, and if you’ll recall, this is the first place that Jack Black really started shining on…good stuff.
