There’s really only one way to summarize my sheer hatred for what is possibly one of the worst movies I’ve ever seen. And it’s through a list.
1. The lighting is incredibly amateur with darkness where it should be light, and light where is should be dark. It seems a monkey lit the entire movie and most of the time the director doesn’t know how to set the mood.
The laugh factor is very low in this. I’ll explain the plot crunch to you. Two dudes get slammed the night before, and wake up the next morning hung over. They then realize that their car is missing and now must go on a quest to find the car… There weren’t as much laughs as I suspected there would be. I was hoping to be in tears, yet only found myself lightly chuckle at a few parts. Ashton Kutcher is likeable in this, as he is in “That 70’s Show”. He does a good job.
The entire story is very sophisticated. Astronauts go to mars to find algae that was implanted for oxygen. Pretty simple. The whole concept that new life exists on this planet is a big thought which often left me pondering on the thought. The character interaction is good. As always, the best character would be Tom Sizemore which gives a great performance. The effects with the robot AMEE are really good.
What a colossal disappointment. We have a paper-thin plot, under-acting by the “all-star” cast. The plot is so diluted and plain that it reaches the point of boredom. Eastwood couldn’t save this. You couldn’t have saved this movie if you put Jimmy Stewart in it. It’s also so far-fetched. I doubt NASA would risk the welfare of the earth by putting four old men in space. That’s just plain irresponsible. What was surprising was that the scene I was most looking forward to, The space scene, is the most dull of the entire film.
This is a cute story. Mel Gibson never ceases to pull in a fun performance. He’s energetic and realistic in this movie. He doesn’t have a humongous part or the starring role yet he pulls in an excellent performance. He’s hilarious and very funny. The dialogue is hilarious and the character set-up is great. We get to see the characters and their flaws which is great. The story takes place in a rural England farm where this woman named Ms. Tweedy grows chickens and sells their eggs.
“The 6th Day” is below the quality of any other Schwarzenegger movie I’ve seen before. This plot is not entirely original, and it leaves a lot of room for the people to debate on the whether the concept of cloning is playing god or just another step in technology. I found it dull.
This is a surprising change for Disney who holds such classic movies like “Beauty and the Beast”, “Cinderella”, and “Snow White” to their roster. “The Emperor’s New Groove” changes the frequently predictable and rather formulaic plotlines from the recent Disney epics and breaks the mold. It starts off telling the story of a very spoiled Mesopotamian prince by the name of Kuzco (David Spade) who is going to tear down a village for a summer home he is building, but unfortunately Pacha (John Goodman), the leader of the village can do nothing about it. Yzma (Eartha Kitt, Kuzco’s advisor is trying to take over the throne while Kuzco is away on business, Kuzco discovers this and fires Yzma, who then attempts to poison him and claim the throne once more with the help of her assistant, the dumb Kronk.
