Tomb Hackers (2003)

tombhackersDirector Anthony Thurman’s film “Tomb Hackers” is a fun short animated film about the misadventures of two explorers who find themselves getting deeper and deeper in trouble as they venture in search of a fortune. The gags in Thurman’s film are mostly hit and miss with some gags that don’t really hit the mark, but when the gags hit they’re very funny.

Not Until You Dance (2005)

nuydBeing a best man is hard enough, but having to subdue to the duties required of you be they tedious or ridiculous is the part of the job that really makes it an unappealing aspect. Bored by his best friends wedding, a young dog is told he can’t leave the wedding until he can dance.

En Passant (2005)

You can’t really find too much in terms of independent short films revolving around a talking head, so I wasn’t really expecting much in “En Passant”, a seven minute short that revolves basically around two talking heads. Two people sit across from one another in a dark room discussing serial killers. They discuss motive and person, the individuals and the methods of murders they engaged in. What’s perplexing about this film is not that these men are discussing these killers as if they’re defending one of their own family, but how they have the ability to commit these heinous crimes. Fizzy Days (2005)

fizzydaysThe plot is severely simple. Eddy (who bears a shocking resemblance to Roger Daltry) wants to impress the girls, and having a guitar just isn’t doing it. So, in order to grab some tail, he gets a job so he can afford a motorcycle. Bikes, which are affordable, just don’t garner enough attention aside from laughs. For the novelty of its plot and the time it’s set in, “Fizzy Days” is worth your attention; it’s not only entertaining, but utterly unique in terms of humor and characterization.

The Key (2006)

Key_posterDirector Todd Kaufman’s short film named “The Key” is a film that I really couldn’t help but flip over. In only eighteen minutes it manages to speak sounds and waves of romance, and life more than any other film can attempt, and Kaufman really knows his characters. “The Key” is a beautiful short elegy about breaking out from your shell and being forced to confront the outside world you fear so heavily. In this case, it’s a girl named Miriam.

Journey of the Dead (2005)

+3+3+Who do you call when rock star zombies (what’s the difference?) attack your house? Steve Perry. Seriously. A couple of “The Darkness” loving yuppies arrive home one day to find their home under siege by the living dead. Living Dead Rock Stars. It makes sense. You like “The Darkness”, you should be killed.

I Killed Tom@MySpace.com

kfdhkWhat attributes to the current success and immense popularity of “My Space”? I can never really figure it out. I have a personal page and a networking one, so I won’t pretend I hate My Space, but for a site that runs well only half the time, has trouble loading, is incredibly slow, and is down half the time, I wonder why My Space continues to remain such a humongous website. One of the most ridiculous but warranted feuds on the mega website is the subscribers’ feuds with Tom. Who is Tom? Tom runs the entire site.
