The Horror! The Horror! My Earliest Memories with Horror

Mind you, my childhood of horror was plentiful and abundant. If you want to hear stories, don’t hesitate to drop me a line, but these are just some I wanted to write down, before life takes hold and I forget them. These are just too precious to forget. Along with “Willy Wonka” and “The Wizard of Oz”, notice, two dark, weird and twisted children’s movies, there are also horror movies that played a large part in my childhood and development as an adult.

The Remake Game

Is it a remake?

No. Studios won’t admit it’s a remake anymore. It’s a re-telling, a re-imagining, a re-visioning, a re-tread, a modernization, an interpretation, a redux, it’s the same story but set in a contemporary setting, it’s not a direct remake because it will be my interpretation (I’m talking to you Jonathan Demme!), it’s the same story but with different characters, and a different plot, and it takes place before the timeline, but after the sequel. What? When the fuck did creativity and originality become out of style? Can someone please give me the answer?

Studio execs will tell you, no it didn’t go out of style, there’s just a lack of creativity in Hollywood, well why isn’t it being-addressed? Obviously there is a lack of creativity, a disturbing and shocking lack of creativity, especially when studios won’t admit that their movie is a remake, yet make up pompous terms to hide what it really is. It’s a remake. And most of the time, it’s not a good one, and almost always is unnecessary.

My (Imaginary) Interview with Eli Roth

I often wonder what it would be like if Eli Roth and I actually decided to do an interview together. Sure, it may polarize anyone else from ever wanting to provide an interview for Cinema Crazed, but I’d be happy anyway, because I’d openly ask that ass clown questions that would not only put him on the spot, but make him sweat. Every movie review site has someone they dislike in Hollywood, and Eli Roth is that person for Cinema Crazed. He’s not only a smug asshole, but he’s also an untalented shit for brains whom people assume is great because he splashes blood in their faces.

"Mean Girls" Soundtrack (Digital)

Though I’ve yet to see the hit film “Mean Girls” I was fortunate enough to listen to the soundtrack. While my ventures into the soundtrack genre as of late has been lackluster, I was rather optimistic upon viewing the track list. Simply: I enjoyed this because it was a lot of fun. Obviously, aimed mostly at young girls ages 13-18 (parents break out your wallets!), this fluffy soundtrack to the critically acclaimed hit film “Mean Girls” will surely leave you with a cavity with the inoffensive songs, and catchy pop anthems sung by predominantly female recording artists.

Do I Have Your Attention?

Is your attention span lowering? Here’s a test: Take a book, a book you’re interested in reading, clear your schedule, and sit down in a quiet room to read it. If you can get through fifteen pages without stopping, without skimming, then you’re just fine, but if at the third page you’re sitting there thinking of other things, or decide to perform another task, there’s a great chance your attention span is lowering.

"The Texas Chainsaw Massacre" Soundtrack (CD)

I wasn’t a fan of the newest version of the cult classic horror film, and it wasn’t much of a change of mood when applied to this soundtrack. As always this is a soundtrack which is comprised solely of head banging hard rock, which isn’t a full complaint, but only a mild gripe. I wouldn’t expect Sarah McLachlan or James Taylor on a soundtrack to this film.
