Our Top 10 Porn Stars (NSFW)

What we define as porn is a debate and discussion that can go in circles for literal hours. What’s the norm to you may be graphic to another person, what may be utterly perverse to you may not be so bad to me, thus the position of porn in our society is a constant hot topic. What is porn? What do we define as porn? Is “Basic Instinct” porn? Is “Debbie Does Dallas” porn? Sure enough, I make no real secret of my involvement with X-Critic and how I review porn titles. I think sex should be discussed openly allowing an open forum for people to express themselves and gain a better awareness of their individuality. Puritanical society and conservative America has done everything in their power to shut down the Porn Industry and bring it to a grinding halt while also attempting to suck it dry “for the sake of the economy,” but all efforts have failed and pornography remains a multi-billion dollar industry that poses no clear threat to society.

I’m always open in admitting that I love porn and I love the business that is pornography. It’s a multi-faceted, and constantly morphing medium that’s always straight forward about the taboos it touches on. And like every fan of pornography, I love the stars of it. Over the years I’ve managed to grab a list of my favorite porn stars of all time. While the research was fun, the primary point of this list is to celebrate porn and reveal a part of this website that appreciates film whether it’s a drama, comedy, or pornography.

Cinema Crazed's Top 10 of 2007…

10. 3:10 to Yuma
I wasn’t completely sure that this remake would even manage to end up remotely watchable, at first. Even with people like Christian Bale and Russell Crowe, I couldn’t muster up enough enthusiasm to be optimistic, and yet, watching it left me utterly stunned. I’m a huge fan of the original film, so it took a great deal of raw acting talent and keen storytelling to stand apart from the original and somehow emphasize the struggle of morals and greed and add a sense of complex morality provocations for the audience and force our imperfect characters into a situation that required a great deal of courage and some stupidity.

Mangold doesn’t give us too many polished heroes and villains even if he edges slightly toward grind house atmosphere and gives our hero a perfectly flawed personality paired with a beaten down and pathetic personality, as well as our antagonist who is a charming, likable and incredibly evil sheep in wolf’s clothing. He’s the incarnation of the devil, a dapper and tempting individual who provides all the sins to everyone he comes across such as greed, lust, envy, and murder, and takes great pride in doing so. Paired with the rousing performances, and incredible action scenes, this is one of the best remakes of all time.

There Will Be Blood (2007)

there_will_be_bloodMy expectations were too high. My anticipation worked against me. It was too exclusive. Whatever the excuse or reason, “There Will Be Blood” is not the best movie of 2007 as I’d hoped, but hell, it sure is a damn good piece of dramatic filmmaking that flexes every single muscle of raw acting talent from each of its cast members involved. “There Will Be Blood” is likened to masterpieces such as “Citizen Kane” and “Giant,” and in many ways Paul Thomas Anderson aims his film down those roads but ends up with his own masterpiece of a man’s rise to power, and fall into his own lust for greed, oil, and his amoral misdeeds in the process.

Robot Bastard! (2001)

Nothing pisses me off more than discovering a movie I find to be one of the most unique and original creation in years to discover that it’s actually pretty old and quite well known. Not only do I feel more out of the loop than ever, at that moment, but I also kick myself for not looking into independent short flicks better. Life dictates my internet usage, I’ve accepted it. Thanks to a happy accident, I discovered “Robot Bastard!” for the first time and couldn’t believe my eyes. Here was a movie that was so weird, and so unusual, and yet so funny, and so damn cool.

Tom and Jerry: A Nutcracker Tale (2007)

tom-and-jerry-a-nutcracker-tale-1 If you go into “A Nutcracker Tale” expecting full blown Tom and Jerry mayhem involving burning hands, cut tails, and knives to the butt, then you’re going to be disappointed. We’re now at a time of sheer confusion where a cat cutting a mouse’s tail is crossing the line yet we’ll willingly allow our children to watch MTV. Censors and the FCC can never seem to make up their damn minds, anymore.

Resident Evil: Extinction (2007)

I’ve come to grips with the fact that we may never be able to have an almost accurate and horrifying zombie film stemming from “Resident Evil,” but perhaps someday someone will reboot the franchise and actually create some great zombie flicks. In case you didn’t know it, “Extinction” recaps the entire three films, including the story of Umbrella ad nauseum, and yes, there’s nothing like a warmed over sense of tension and suspense. From the first five minutes, it’s pretty obvious this has no idea what it wants to be, but truly, it’s just another episode in an ongoing franchise, regardless of the pretense it sets up that it’s the final film in the series. It’s not.

The Snow Queen (2007) (DVD)

1168125852One of the appealing aspects of “The Snow Queen” that instantly won me over the unorthodox atmosphere present within this fantasy world. Director Julian Gibbs never quite opts to provide a set and strive for a period piece, instead he makes a noticeably unrealistic set piece and alters it enough to make the world of “The Snow Queen” from the impoverished village to the winter wonderland look like a moving painting as done from a surrealist of a sort. The pastels and shades to “The Snow Queen” are so utterly appealing to watch, and while I could notice the CGI, I absolutely loved what Gibbs was going for with this.
