In the movie, Frank (Bill Murray Stripes, Caddyshack) is a mega-slob who really doesn’t care how he lives, but there lies a world in that greasy oily body of his. When he eats a hard-boiled egg that dropped on the floor, he accidentally eats a lethal Tony Montana-esque germ by the name of Thrax (Laurence Fishburne The Matrix). Now, a white blood cell named Osmosis Jones (Chris Rock SNL, Head of State) and a cold pill named Drix (David-Hyde Pierce Frasier) must stop the germ from killing Frank. But can they catch him in time?

Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back (2001)
In the supposedly last installment of the Jay and Silent Bob series, we meet Jay and Silent bob, two invalids who hang outside a convenience store doing basically nothing. When a hit comic “Bluntman and Chronic” based on their exploits is being made into a Hollywood movie, they’re not going to see a cent of royalties, so they decide to go to Hollywood to stop the film from being made. This is directed by famed cult comic book writer Kevin Smith who has based practically his entire Hollywood career on these two characters alone.
Ocean’s Eleven (2001)
Steven Soderbergh directs an all-star cast in this stylish and dazzling remake of the “Rat Pack” cult fav. In the movie, George Clooney takes over for Frank Sinatra and plays Daniel Ocean, an ex-con who just got out of the slammer; he reunites with his old friend Rusty, a card shark. Now, they attempting a huge casino robbery at the risk of being busted by Casino mob boss/guru Terry Benedict. Danny will assemble eleven of the most skillful and greatest criminals and corrupt the biggest casino and robbery in history. This is an excellent and (dare I say) superior remake to the classic movie of same name. We’ll start with Soderbergh’s directing style. Soderbergh has proven he is a film maker of many flavors in his directing power when directing movies.
Max Keeble’s Big Move (2001)
In this far-fetched “kids movie,” Alex D. Linz plays Max Keeble, a local paperboy who goes about his business delivering papers and is in constant battle with the evil “Ice Cream Man” played aptly by Jamie Kennedy. He now enters a new phase in his life: Junior High School. Now he has a crush on the local neighborhood girl, is constantly terrorized by the school bullies and the crooked school principal played by Larry Miller. But a new event has developed. His father who works for an advertising company is now being relocated to Chicago to start a new campaign. Now Keeble wants to leave the town in style with the help of his two best friends.
A Knight's Tale (2001)
Man, it really pisses me off when such a movie with such heart has tons of flaws to it. First off, the beginning of the movie threw me off so much. I mean, classic rock in medieval times? While two knights joust, we see the crowd of peasants and noblemen pounding their fists on the wooden banisters to the beat of Queens “We Will Rock you.” Am I missing something?
Amelie (2001)
In this French comedy, we meet Amelie (Audrey Toutou), a reclusive beautiful young girl who relies on her imagination to take her into her own magical worlds. When she discovers an old tin case in her wall containing relics of the past belonging to someone, she decides to make herself a deal: she finds the owner, if they are happy with discovering the relics, she will do nothing but good deeds from now on, if they aren’t happy, she will return to her reclusive life. Well, the owner loves the relics, and now decides to take her screwy life filled with screwball characters and do good deeds for them. This movie garnered tons of Oscar nods when it appeared on the scene, so when it came on, I was more than anxious to check it out.
The Majestic (2001)
I love this movie for bringing to mind the old Frank Capra movies from the fifties telling the story of the average Joe brought about into a large situation where the character comes of age and self-discovery. Peter Appleton (Jim Carrey) is a movie writer for B-movies living in the 1950’s during the war where McCarthyism sprung forth upon America. He is blacklisted among others as a communist sympathizer and loses his job. Down in the dumps, one faithful night he goes for a ride and gets into a car accident. He is discovered that morning by an old man and is taken in a sweet little town. Struck with amnesia, he is accidentally mistaken by the townsfolk as a lost war hero and is instantly accepted within their confines, ultimately changing theirs and his own life. But what will happen when he eventually gains his memory back?
