I enjoyed the whole depth behind this movie. This is a family who aren’t very close to begin with, and each character is completely opposite to the next one. Kate Hudson is enjoyable as the flirtatious man-eater. Her plot was probably the best one as she manages to fall head over heels for this snake. Frances O’connor gives a radiant performance as the meakish bookworm of the family who also becomes interested in Adam and gets involved in a lurid affair with him. Adam is also a very interesting character; I think Adam is more of a symbol in this movie than an actual character. He is the quintessential man that each of these people picture and often he gives them what they want or desire through intricate planning. We never truly learn anything about him and whenever he does talk about his past, his stories are altered for the people he’s with simply to charm them and win them over through pity and sentiment.

Daredevil (2003)
Now, first of all, I am a fan boy, for the record; and I love the Daredevil comic books; so when this came out in the theatres, I was foaming at the mouth. Daredevil is not a household name like Spider-Man or Superman, so it’s a challenge trying to make this appeal to a wide audience. Many people compare this to spider-man, and in a lot of ways, the marketing and advertising is almost identical, but it’s unfair to compare the two. Spider-man is a light fun action-packed romp, while Daredevil is more deep, complex, and incredible. I was rather upset at the casting choices for each of the characters, but I decided to give it a chance. I was breath taken by this movie. Ben Affleck is incredible as Matt Murdock. I’ll admit, I didn’t think he would do good to the role, but he was able to pull it off without flaw. Ben Affleck is great as the humble and often cold Matt Murdock.
8 Mile (2002)
The entire movie reminds me alot of “Flashdance” which isn’t a new notion brought about, but I thought I would just bring it to your attention. The entire landscape for the film closely resembles a lot of people who live in the inner-city. This features an all-star cast with Mikhei Pfeiffer as the club DJ and Rabbit’s friend. We also have Brittany Murphy and Kim Basinger. The movie features a lot of good performance especially from Mikhei Pfeiffer who acts as the guardian of the often ostracized Rabbit. He helps him out a lot throughout the movie and gave off great chemistry with Eminem. Eminem gives a good performance in the movie which was a big concern to most fans of the artist.
Sidewalks of New York (2001)
In this charming intertwining tale of love, lost, and sex, director and writer Edward Burns stars as a posh New York salesman Tommy who falls for a City school teacher named Maria (Rosario Dawson). She is being annoyed by her door man/musician ex-husband Ben (David Krumholtz), who is re-discovering love with the help of Ashley (Brittany Murphy), who wants to be with him, but is stuck in a tawdry affair with Griffin (Stanley Tucci), who is stuck in a dead end marriage to the highly opinionated liberal real estate saleswoman Annie (Heather Graham) who is falling for Ed Burns’ character, who is being coldly snubbed by Maria. Wasn’t that a mouth full?
Thirteen Conversations About One Thing (2002)
This is an interesting and profound drama, because this movie has one underlying theme that is relatable and universal: happiness. This movie has four separate characters whose life and tale seems to interconnect in some odd way. Matthew Mc Conaughey plays Troy, a hotshot lawyer with a triumphant swagger whose luck can’t seem to stop after putting a suspect in jail, and he has everything going for him, until he accidentally hits someone with his car and drives off to leave them to die. Slowly within the movie he descents into madness as his guilt has him take a mental plunge.
Divine Secrets of the Ya Ya Sisterhood (2002)
This is based on the book by Rebecca Wells and was adapted into a mildly successful chick flick in the box-office. This easily disappeared but its hard to figure out why. I rather enjoyed this film. It’s a good movie about the bond between a mother and daughter and how you can never truly know your parents as much as you think you do. Sandra Bullock is great as Siddalee Walker, the angry and disgruntled woman who has a cross to bear with her mother and often exhibits the corky odd traits her mother does. She’s terrible in relationships because she fears she may take the same path as her mother did when she was younger.
Sorority Boys (2002)
Three womanizing guys from K. O. K. are kicked out of the the fraternity after being accused of embezzling money from the house. They have proof that it wasn’t them by a surveillance tape, so they devise a plan. No, they don’t send a couple of girls in to get the tape for them, that would require brains, yet they dress up as women themselves to retrieve it, but soon learn it isn’t as easy as it looks. Homeless, they decide to pledge the sorority of D. O. G in desperate need of a place to stay, but learn a lesson in morals and discover what it feels like to be a woman.
