The Walking Dead Season 4 Episode 10: Inmates

The writers of “The Walking Dead” are really interested in emphasizing the fact that the Governor has taken away paradise for everyone around him. Once Woodbury went, so did Grimesville, or whatever it was called. “After” focused on the three core characters of the series (I’m glad Michonne is essentially a principal character now), and “Inmates” focuses on the remaining survivors of the prison, all of whom are at wits end, and on the verge of death. They’re worse off than they were at the beginning of season two, truth be told. The episode has its problems, in either case.

The Walking Dead Season 4 Episode 1: 30 Days Without an Accident

With safety breeds complacency and unfortunately when we meet the survivors in “The Walking Dead” season four, not only have they built a world in the prison, but they’ve become complacent. Worse yet, Rick Grimes has now become complacent. Or so he’s told himself time and time again that the world outside has been somewhat dominated, thanks to their defeat of the Governor. They may have won the battle with the Governor, but the war has yet to end, and the group has yet to figure out what will happen if Phillip Blake returns in full force, prepared to slaughter the prison village.

5. Party On, Garth
Season Seven
For season six and seven, the writers seemed to be given a task of filling the season with padding episodes. Thus it seems like they scrambled to find episodes that could stall the resolution of the arc and introduce monsters. But after Satan, and death, what else is there? Here, we meet the goofy Garth, introduced by name in “Weekend at Bobby’s.” DJ Qualls is a very underrated character actor who appears in huge shows like “Big Bang Theory,” and “Breaking Bad,” so he’s a guy who can play almost anyone.

The Big Bang Theory: The Complete Sixth Season (DVD)

TBBT6One of the funniest and most popular sitcoms on television is back with its sixth season, probably one of the most realized and unique seasons of the hit series. After wisely adjusting its formula about four geeks and the hot girl next door, “The Big Bang Theory” slowly became an ensemble series about four geeky guys and the women that love them in spite of their odd obsessions. “The Big Bang Theory” is as funny as ever, and despite criticism from “fan boys” on the net, still a ratings juggernaut that promises to continue into ten seasons.

The Twilight Zone: The Complete Fifth Season (DVD)

TZIf you’re going to go out, go out with a bang. The fifth season of “The Twilight Zone” is the final season of the legendary horror anthology show. Incidentally it’s also the season that features some of the best and most incredible episodes of the series ever made. It’s by far some of the best television ever produced, and it’s here for the taking. Reading down the list of episodes on the back of the DVD I was ecstatic to re-visit some of my all time favorite episodes of the series, many of which have influenced me for many years.

The Twilight Zone: The Complete Third Season (DVD)

Tb75dbvAs a hardcore “The Twilight Zone” fan who spent his but every new year in front of the television watching twenty four hours of Rod Serling’s iconic series, I have to say that season three of “The Twilight Zone” is among some of the best television ever produced. It’s also some of the most brilliant genre entries you’ll ever find. Let’s face it, there was never anything like “The Twilight Zone” and there never will be again. With stars like Carol Burnett, Cliff Robertson, Leonard Nimoy, Robert Redford, Charles Bronson, Elizabeth Montgomery, and Dean Stockwell appearing in some truly noteworthy installments, this is a season set absolutely worth owning.

Combat! The Complete Fourth Season (DVD)

Image Entertainment releases season four of one of the most complex and interesting war time dramas I’ve ever seen. With a wonderful opening sequence reliant on heavy symbolism involving a soldier’s helmet, and a great cast, “Combat!” is a lot like “Saving Private Ryan.” But if their journey was five seasons long.

And we followed two separate platoons on the field. “Combat!” takes a more subtle approach to the war, with star Vic Morrow and Rick Jason leading their own platoons through the battlefield with episodes that varied between characters. Season four on DVD features all 31 episodes of the fourth season as well as bloopers, audio commentary, and behind the scenes.
