As with every year, Fantasia Film Festival is also a place to showcase the talents of filmmakers that specialize in making short films of all genres. This year I tackled the “Small Gauge Trauma” block and thankfully didn’t find a single bad apple in the whole bunch. These shorts aren’t just creative, but they’re incredibly original and delivered in the realm of horror big time.

Lake Michigan Monster (2019) [Fantasia Festival 2019]
Some indie films are like inside jokes that you almost have to have some knowledge about to get. I get “Lake Michigan Monster.” I do. It has the best of intentions, it’s a home grown bare bones budgeted action monster movie, and it pays tribute to Michigan the best that it can. But in the end I was happier that “Lake Michigan Monster” was barely eighty minutes in length than I was watching the movie altogether.
Interview with actor Marc Natoli, of “The Proposal”
Marc Natoli is a new-ish actor who just landed in Los Angeles to take it by storm. His skills are clear in The Proposal where he gets to kick much ass and show that he’s got some acting chops to go with that. Marc was gracious enough to give us a bit of time to answer some of our questions and do a mini photo shoot around Hollywood.
Five Most Anticipated Films of Fantasia Film Festival 2019 [Fantasia Fest 2019]
For yet another year, Cinema Crazed will be covering the Fantasia International Film Festival, the 23rd edition running from July 11th to August 1st. The festival is famous for featuring some of the most acclaimed and highly anticipated genre films from around the world, and this year is featuring 130 films in its slate. Among them there will be the world premieres of MYSTERY OF THE NIGHT, BLOOD ON HER NAME, STARE, 1BR, THE DEEPER YOU DIG, and HOMEWRECKER; as well there will be events like screenings of classic horror like “The Living Dead at the Manchester Morgue” and the rare TV movie “What Ever Happened to Rosemary’s Baby?”

Attack of the Demons (2019) [Cinepocalypse 2019]
In a small, isolated town, a green glowing blob of sort attacks animals and humans alike, turning them into a mass of evil that swallows all in its path. Trying to survive this, a local young man, a visitor, and a young lady team up to try and outrun the take of over of this town during its yearly music festival.
Theresa & Allison (2019)
Theresa, a newly turned vampire finds help from charming Allison as she doesn’t know how to navigate her new truth and hunger. As she discovers more and more about real vampires, she soon finds out that these vampires are not all romance and long dresses.
Cinepocalypse 2019 Shorts Block 2: Sex, Blood, and Heavy Metal [Cinepocalypse 2019]
This year I covered Cinepocalypse’s second shorts block, and for this round the topics included Sex, Blood, and Heavy Metal. Not all of the movies are horror here, nor are they particularly scary, but they’re an interesting variety for the festival.
