Ten Horror Femmes We'd Spend the Night With

I remember watching a horror documentary about Dracula, and I forget who exactly said it, but during a screening of Frank Langella’s “Dracula,” two women in the audience admitted that they would completely allow Langella’s Dracula to take them with him and turn them, if they could just spend the night with him. In spite of the inherent attraction and allure of the vampires, men also have those female figures in horror that we wouldn’t mind spending the night with, even if it meant sacrificing our very lives, skin, blood, or brains. For the very reason those women would have given themselves to Dracula is the reason why many men would submit themselves to certain horror femmes. In spite of suffering a slow and possibly painful death, you’re almost guaranteed a night of head exploding, heart rupturing, love making that will leaving you a withered, soulless, but wide grinning corpse. To add to the endless hordes of horror geeks who’d offer themselves up to hot horror figures of the opposite sex, we list ten horror femmes we’d risk our very essence to spend one long night with.

The Zombie Survival Guide: Complete Protection From The Living Dead [Paperback]

It was pretty obvious judging by the context of “The Zombie Survival Guide” that author Max Brooks’ smash novel “World War Z,” a sequel to “The Zombie Survival Guide,” would come to the hands of readers eventually. “The Zombie Survival Guide” basically establishes within its texts that it’s meant as a tool for the individual living in a world with the potential to be infested by the walking dead with plenty of experiences dealing with outbreaks and invasions of the walking dead before. So of course it was only a matter of time before author Brooks dropped the formalities and let us get a large exploration in to the world that inspired “The Zombie Survival Guide.”

While “The Zombie Survival Guide” is pretty much a very creative and informative book and manual about surviving in a world where the walking dead are as every bit a threat as Cancer and AIDS, deep down it possesses a core narrative injected within its pages that is subtle and haunting. For ninety percent of the novel, author Max Brooks provides every scenario for a major zombie apocalypse and what to do to ensure the survival of a person or a group of persons. And then for the final ten percent of the book, the author in question provides readers with a massive account of zombie encounters and horrific incidents involving the walking dead that date back to the Egyptian times right down to 2001.

Night of the Creeps (1986)

Almost thirty years later, 1986’s “Night of the Creeps” is a horror science fiction film that is nowhere near being a masterpiece, but is still one of the best horror romps I’ve ever seen from the decade. Director Fred Dekker treated fans to a double dose of horror entertainment, offering “Monster Squad” and then “Night of the Creeps.” While both films aren’t universally renowned like “Bride of Frankenstein,” they are classics in their own right. If you happened to love both films, you kind of want to give Fred Dekker a big hug. For me, it was a one two punch of horror comedy gold.

Zombie Cat: The Tale of a Decomposing Kitty [Paperback]

One of the aspects of author Isabel Atherton’s book about a zombie cat and its master in the middle of the zombie apocalypse is subtlety. It manages to be both an advantage and a downfall, especially since the ending feels somewhat abrupt. The trick is, I’m assuming, that the ending is the beginning. In either case, from Skyhorse Publishing, “Zombie Cat” is yet another in a slew of kids books showing how life in the zombie apocalypse is different and drastic. Particularly for Tiddles and her master.

Zombies vs. Strippers (2012)

So what do we learn from Zombies vs. Strippers? Zombies who moan “brains!” aren’t specifically limited to eating brains, strippers crave anal sex even during a zombie raid, cameramen will stay focused on a TV host even if they’re being mauled by the walking dead, watching someone eating someone else’s fingers doesn’t set off alarms that something is wrong with them, pole dancing is actually a hidden form of martial arts, cops are nowhere to be found in the city, zombies will pounce on extras but slowly creep up on principle cast members of a movie, strip clubs only play songs without lyrics, strip clubs only employ four strippers at a time, and when you’re bitten in the butt you won’t notice until much later on. All things considered “Zombies vs. Strippers” is a pretty crummy movie.
