The 5 Best Times (So Far) Rick Grimes was a Bad Ass on “The Walking Dead”

It’s no secret that Rick Grimes is our favorite character of both “The Walking Dead” original comic book and the loosely based hit TV show. Grimes is an average man on a somewhat typical job who turns in to a savior for many people trying to survive amidst the walking dead. In the show, Andrew Lincoln portrays the character brilliantly, and over the course of four seasons has managed to evoke the warrior from Rick Grimes. Season four gave us full view in to the warrior that fans already know from the comic books, and hopefully season five is full of more banner Grimes moments.

Our Top Ten “Tales from the Crypt” Episodes of All Time

My love and appreciation for “Tales from the Crypt” didn’t happen immediately. I missed the entire run of the series when it was on HBO, because at the time my family didn’t have cable. However, later when the series ran every Saturday at midnight on network television, my family and I would watch every weekend and enjoy the horrific delights that the cryptkeeper would serve up.

The series remained a favorite of mine for many years, and still manages to pack a punch as a successor to “Creepshow” as an anthology series with twists, turns, and a brutally dark sense of humor. It was a tough task, but we picked out our top ten episodes of the entire series run. What are some of your favorites from the classic horror series?

Our Top Five “Spaced” Episodes

If you haven’t seen “Spaced,” the odds are you’re missing out on the final puzzle that will cement you as a fan of Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, or Edgar Wright. The UK series was a massive hit for two seasons, and fifteen years later it still has a major following today. Many of the series’ stars went on to huge things in America and their home countries, including Simon Pegg, series director Edgar Wright, Nick Frost, and Jessica Hynes.

Fifteen years later, the show is still fresh, hilarious, and worth the hooplah it garnered when it finally arrived to the US a few years ago. It’s never too late to explore “Spaced,” so here are five essential episodes you should look out for while coasting through its fourteen episode run.

Our Top 5 “Saved by the Bell” Episodes

I used to watch “Saved by the Bell” religiously as a child, tuning in every afternoon after school, around five o’clock to catch the syndicated repeats. I never missed an episode, and I pity the fool who’d make me miss an installment. The show was true to the teenage experience in the 90’s, as “Leave It to Beaver” was to the familial experience in the fifties, but who cared?

It’s the 25th anniversary of “Saved by the Bell” apparently, so we took the time to compile a list of our top five episodes of “Saved by the Bell.” Mainly, because it’s a childhood favorite. Aw, who are we kidding? It’s still one of our favorite bits of television comfort food of all time. Whenever it’s on, we can’t help but watch, whether it’s the bland early years with Ms. Bliss, or the odd episodes without Jessie or Kelly. It’s up there with “Full House,” and “Fresh Prince” as a series so silly, but so damn funny and charming, you can’t help but be a fan.

Plus, Tiffani Amber Thiessen is still so damn hot.

Chris Evans is a charismatic and really entertaining actor whose really managed to elevate himself as a valuable on-screen presence since he burst on to the scene years ago. He can be funny, empathetic, and dramatic, and he seems to have a good sense of humor about himself. Whether it’s playing third banana in “Cellular’ or goofy hunk in “Not Another Teen Movie,” Evans is never boring, and continues to grow as an actor with every film. Home invasion films have been a staple of cinema for decades. A family or group of strangers are held hostage by a group of people, and are forced to learn something about themselves, and others. Often times when the home invaders are monsters, the flaws come seeping to the surface. In either case, in honor of “The Purge: Anarchy” which seems to have gotten its own concept right, hopefully: we posted five great home invasion films. “The Purge” was by no means a great film, nor a good one, but it helped us re-live a lot of our favorite home invasion thrillers, and here are five of our favorites.
