Marvel Entertainment thought Brian Rosenthal’s fan film was too damn excellent for anyone to see, so they wiped out this fan film from the internet faster than you can say “Necronomicon.” But for the few folks that were able to catch it, director Brian Rosenthal delivers one hell of a kick ass short fan film that previews what could be an amazing film. In an alternate reality where Marvel and Sam Raimi teamed up for a great horror action film.

Hollywood (2007)
Director Christopher L. Golon’s short film “Hollywood” is a decent effort, with a keen idea of what it wants out of its short run time. It’s rough around the edges, and definitely could use a larger length, but as it stands it’s a solid attempt at a short neo-noir about the damnation of living in Hollywood.
Choosing Sides (2013)
Director Lee Loechler’s comedy short is a hilarious and beautifully acted statement about the lengths parents will go through to bring their child over to their religion. And not as a sense of best intentions, but only for personal victory. As someone who spent his entire life being lured to Catholicism through any means necessary by many, “Choosing Sides” is a hilarious commentary on that moment where some parents begin trying to bring their children over to their faith.
Ruby and the Dragon (2013)
While I really like what “Ruby and the Dragon” seems to be setting out to do, I was never quite sure what director Phillip Jordan Brooks was hinting toward with his resolution. This makes “Ruby and the Dragon” a bit foggy in its intent, and what it’s all supposed to mean. “Ruby and the Dragon” is a short film about a young girl named Ruby who lives in a fantasy world. And why wouldn’t she? Her life is just one miserable event after the other.
The Decelerators (2012)
Director Mark Slutsky’s science fiction short “The Decelerators” really is an ambitious short that ponders on the more complex minutiae of life that we don’t often explore. While the movie itself could stand twenty more minutes, and exposition, that doesn’t completely destroy director Slotsky’s intent to create a meaningful genre entry that tries to build conflict with time travel. It’s by no means a masterpiece, but “The Decelerators” is definitely above average.
Comet (2013)
Director Derek and Dan Morrow’s short film “Comet” has potential to really be the next fun kids film about two unlikely friends. Made on a small budget, and a limited crew, “Comet” is a short claymation film with very limited budget qualities, but great potential. The classic tale of a visitor from another world stuck on Earth, the Morrow brothers manage to plant the seeds for a wonderful narrative that they hope will blossom in to a feature film.
Thieves (2013)
Much as I enjoy a movie about the apocalypse, the one disadvantage that D. Erik Parks’ short film has it that it needs much more exposition behind it. I loved the notion of doing whatever one can to survive, but I was never sure what to make of the premise for “Thieves,” in the end.
